When you have infinite debt you must have QE to infinity. If not the economy implodes.

If you have a home with destroyed dry wall, faulty electricity, rusted pipes, rotted frame, caved in roof and a smashed in foundation...you tear it down and you build again. Brand new. The above example is the state of the Federal Reserve compound interest system. It can't be fixed nor does it deserve to be.

The Debt Ceiling is there for a very fundamental reason. It checks congress and makes them think about what they are spending our money on, at least it used too..the idea was a good one. Make congress ask for an increase in expenditures and make them balance a budget to keep the US under the limits set in place.

I realize that the fundamental paradigm of balancing the national check book has went out the window but for F sakes, let not give them a credit card with unlimited credit that we will never pay back. Hell, we will never pay back what has already been accumulated ...

What's wrong is that nobody will admit that the financial system is broken beyond repair. Actually Mr. Geithner is admitting it by suggesting this.

And in a way he is right.

If you are a Constitutor, you've already agreed to pay the debt, yet you argue against it?

Regardless, I think people need to get get together and demand a constitutional ammendment so that a set amount of money can be borrowed, a set amount of money can be printed, a set amount of money can be taxed.

This infinite debt limit call by Geithner is more about the physiology of announcing it every time they cross it than the act of actually announcing it. It disrupts the markets they are trying to manipulate and reminds everyone how irresponsible they are.

They want to get rid of this reflection (how big it's getting and the fact that it is raising faster and faster) every time they announce it !

That's ok.

Geithner is using Argentina's economic model they experimented with through the 1980s-1990s. If liquidity is low, print as much money as legislatively possible.

I'm sure he understands the risks involved (i.e, rampant hyperinflation, devaluation, etc, etc).

But in Geithner we trust. I'm sure the policy of hyperinflation will work out successfully this time around.

That won't stop Gov't "borrowing" and spending. The EBT cards will still be supplied monthly. Your savings and earnings will buy less, and less, until working and saving are of no benefit whatsoever. You have to step back and think about what the nation was like when you were growing up and where it is now. It is not getting better, in fact it is getting worse at a faster rate.

Maybe that is what "they" intend, but that is not what is going to happen. All this infinite money printing is inflating the world's currencies. Food prices keep going up. It will get so bad that 3 years from now people will be working a day for a loaf of bread.

This will be the fulfillment of the 3rd seal of Revelation. The nations will justly point their fingers at the USA for doing this to them. That will bring about the 4th seal of Revelation. The 4th seal is a great war where everyone in a 1/4 part of the Earth's surface dies.

Guess where that 1/4 part of the Earth is ? Hmmmmmm....
