Re: Is the drinking of milk more cruel than eating a fellow creature?
Now drinking milk is cruel? Are there any more restrictions you'd like to place on life? I think it might still be somewhat livable.

How about "toasting is cruel to the bread so we shouldn't do that."

Or "don't slice a tomato, you are slicing a living thing!"

What about all the organisms you can't see but step on every time you walk?

Driving is now forbidden, because of the bugs that will splat your windshield. It's not their fault, they were just occupying nature. YOU were the one who had the choice of buying the car and driving down that road. And don't even get me started on the evils of that car's existence in the first place!

Seriously, when will it be okay for me to step outside my house and actually live, without someone wanting to impose guilt for the most basic of activities?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28092364

I certainly do not impose any of my beliefs on anybody. I appreciate where you are coming from. I'm a car driver and I am guilty. Yes I splatter insects on my windscreen If I see a fly on the windscreen I will stop and let it off. I once found a moth stuck to my bonnet still alive. I'm not here on a high horse. When I go for a walk I am looking at the ground incase I step on an insect. If I see a worm on the path I will place the worm on the soil. If I kill myself I will cause bacteria to die.

An animal is slaughtered within minutes whereas a cow and the calf mourn each others 'death' for a lot longer so us humans can enjoy the milk that nature intended for the cows young. This is not a preach thing. Just something to make you think.

Okay we have the middle east crisis going on so by comparison this may seem small.

But to relay our empathy onto other creatures (we do with cats and dogs) but to others?

We may not be able to halt the Israel Palastine conflict, but we can open our minds to a reality we can change for the better.

It's like moving to a new house. Everything seems daunting at first but each small step at a time gets us to our goal.

I know the omnivores will get their fangs into this one but maybes they are right!

Maybes I am wrong about being vegan for 2 1/2 decades.

Maybes life is a hiccough in a peace/piece of the universe that could have been without injured mind.

Be the change you wanna see in the world.

There are so many negativities,

Who really knows? Certainly not me.

All creatures have minds and they don't want to die; it is just us to decide which creatures to mind, whether it be selfish or selfless.

Life is a lottery where you could have been born a pig at the mercy of humans.

God bless whatever your persuasion.

Take care, you never know what is around the corner.

Thanks, I'll give this to my acquaintance who is sure he can't ascend eating any meats or fish and his ancient Vedic literature forbids the eating of anything from a seed or grain as it supposedly makes you extremely lustful. He was up in arms over a suggestion would he like a peanut butter sandwich. I told him his lust issues likely were more related to porn consumption than foods and I felt one's actions or nonactions regarding dealings with one another counted much more on any ascension. He decided to just eat all dairy and be a breatharian. Now I can remind him boob juice besides likely being from a very lustful object using it is contributing to the demise of the young calf. Wouldn't consuming mourning milk lower one's vibrations (supposedly)?

I intend to buy a cow, maybe even a few, and have them produce milk for me. I would then turn that milk into kefir which becomes food for myself. That food will help me to become stronger so that I may go out and grow the foods the cows need to survive and become stronger. I see it as a symbiosis really, not parasitical. The cows have something I need, and I have something the cows need, the means to provide for them.

i dont drink milk. it has never appealed to me. i recently started drinking almond "milk" and find it quite tasty. i dont know if it's a decent alternative for an avid milk drinker, but i would recommend looking into it. could help decrease demand.

Thanks for the reply. Rice milk I find quite nice.

To find peace between human and human surely the first step is peace between human and animal?

It is all about being aware of what is going on whether in your reality or the reality that you are oblivious to but still exists. Like being tuned into a particular radio station when another delivers its airwaves into your home.

Your conscience influences your lifestyle if you adhere to it. The media tries to control your consciousness if you allow it.

The so called 'nanny state' is the biggest con ever. It really is the fascist state. But when you tell the public it is 'nanny state' They think of Mary Poppins. 'Oh look they want to look after us'.

EH NO! THEY WANT TO CONTROL YOU!

They look upon you as you look upon the calf that has been taken from her loving mother.

Who is the guilty one here?

It's all in the mind.
Eating meat is a brainwashed idea.

Could you stamp on a vulnerable chicken?

Then why allow other people to do ir for you?

Come on people, we want a better world. Lets start from the basics.

This forum is built from ending lives. Yet we do by the simple fact of eating.

I tried to write a compassionte note but by which time 20000 animals had died.
