This is the question to be asked.

Wages aren't keeping up with inflation: FACT.

Those who blame worker and the poor need their businesses boycotted and shut down.

Why do you deserve to own a business if you can't pay a living wage?

Keep your smarmy asshole answers to yourself if you can't explain why the Minimum wage should be allowed to remain far below the inflation rate.

Some Americans are stupid assed slaves.

Hey, genius do you understand that some people would rather have a job that suck off the government teet? Some people start a business, because there are no jobs...oh, nevermind - you need to go home...your "hard" day at the governement office is done.

99% of people want to work. The question is why are wages being depressed so they intentionally can't keep up with inflation?

There are the smart people, who start businesses and have the brains to keep it going and it becomes kinda like a goof to keep it going. Plus you don't have to kiss ass.
Of course, you will never understand.

No but you obviously are.

Everytime the Federal reserve dos its Quantitative Easing act it makes assets cheaper for purchase on Markets which benefits the wealthy as they buy up homes, land and commodities etc. increasing their wealth; at the same time however it weakens purchasing power since more money in the system makes ALL money worth less, so if you depend on wages and not investments your dollar buys less.

I honestly must agree. It is a disgrace that 40 hours a week of honest hard work, regardless of the job should yield sufficient money to get by for a family of say 4.

That does not mean anything extra, I'm talking about basics. Food, clothing, shelter, utilities and transportation.

Personally I belive in salary compression. Meaning that the ratio of pay between any two human beings who perform an honest days labor should be held to something reasonable.

Pay the low end more and the upper end less, instead of all the money dribbling to the upper end managers, leaving nothing for the laborers.

Yes, they take it by force to give to immigrants and welfare mommies and pot heads who want to remain college students for 20 years, and people who buy homes they can't afford and eventually foreclose, just to go and do the same thing again which gives profits to major corporations.

It's called redistribution of wealth.

I've been asking myself the same question for years now OP. IT boggles my mind that somehow people are supposed to survive on a minimum wage income( or what, a raise of 2 or 3 dollars more), while the cost living continues to go up. The people that work in a business can't all be the business owner and yet it feels more and more like the interpetation of American life is that if you are NOT a business owner, you're a entitled leach, sucking off the rest of the system, while those that are business owners are reaping most of the profit for themselves. America is quickly becoming an Oligarchy if not already so.

Oh and before the hounds of GLP are set upon me, I work 30 to 50 hours a week as a cook making 8 dollars an hour. I have never once applied or accepted Government "aid" in any fashion other than Student Loans, which doesn't really count imho.

^^^^THIS is the version of Americans that get shat on by the system the most. We work our asses off for next to nothing, while every lost job or lost hours puts us right back into survival mode, and somehow we get fucked over and lumped into the welfare/entitlement/government aid category that never existed for us in the first place. The truth is, I don't want your pity or your indifference, I just want to live comfortably for once with out having to worry that every extraneous expense wont set me back 2 or 3 paychecks because I never have any extra money for that shit after food, rent, and bills.

Those days seem long gone. I remember my father being able to support us on his blue collar job with my mother at home. Then during the seventies, she started doing babysitting on the side to supplement. More and more women had to start working. Dual incomes became the norm. And today, even with two working, it's a bigger struggle than ever - if you're lucky enough to be working.

Agreed, but as a small business owner I can honestly say that when I find a good person, I am going to go out of my way to make sure they stay. That is, as much as I can within the context of still being competitive.
Please don't forget-the business owner most likely has put his dick on the line many times to stay in business. Small biz owners usually need to sign a personal guarantee that is secured-usually to their home or life savings.

That's a very good point too. I've had bosses like this. I don't consider low income wages the responibility of the business owner as much as what the system has provided for them as well as us. Starting a new business on your own and keeping it functional is still one of the hardest things to accomplish imo, and only getting harder. It's the other side that bothers me. The indifference and lack of responsibility larger companies show for the well-being of their employees. I would not blame Obama for being laid off before questioning why the motives of budget cutbacks always seems to revolve around lay offs before seeking more efficient business practices. It'd be nice to see companies recognize that their employees are their biggest asset before whatever it is they actually produce.

It is globalism. When you have free trade and no tariffs then the countries with the lowest wages and crappiest working conditions will always win PERIOD

Businesses in hi-wage countries cannot pay good wages because they cannot sell their goods at a fair price, due to the cheap Chinese crap flooding the market. The end to all of this is every nation will become a 3rd world shithole.

Stop blaming the sheep business owners, they are just work their asses off trying to survive.

99% of people want to work. The question is why are wages being depressed so they intentionally can't keep up with inflation?

In the U.S., only 30% of working age population really want to work, 50% want government entitlement money, and 20% want a passive income from profiting off the stupidity of the aforesaid 80%.

Hold it there .. how many of the 70% who do not want to work are women who would rather be married to a man who enables them not to work?

It's all about value. If a business owner is providing something of value to the public, he "deserves" to own a business. The question you should be asking is what value do the employees not earning a living wage have. If a job making less than a living wage is the best that they can do, maybe they should take some responsibility for where they are and learn to do something to increase their value. If they do not want to learn something to increase their value, the only other option is to shrink the size of the pool that their labor is being drawn from, and that is a big damn pool. Closing the borders, deporting all non citizens, and kicking all able bodied Americans off of entitlement programs to force them to accept whatever they can do is the only way to reduce the size of that pool, but nobody in charge is going to do that whether for political correctness or reduced profit margins. Either way may cost them the next election. Boycotting a business that pays the value for the labor they are receiving is ignorant, as it is only going to put more unskilled labor back in the workforce.

You want to know why minimum wage laws are bad? You are forcing people to pay more than the value of the services rendered. When you give that much extra money to someone who hasn't earned it, they spend that money on the same things everyone else is buying whether it is food, water, electricity, etc. Increased demand for these goods and services leads to higher prices for everyone. This is inflation. As the amount of money in the marketplace is increased, so are the prices of goods and services. This is a game that can't be won. If the prices are increased to the point that it becomes cheaper to send the work to another country and ship it back here, then everyone loses.

You want to make a living wage? Learn a skill. Learn to weld, plumb, or use electricity. More have taken the easy route thinking they were better than everyone else. They aren't. College degrees aren't worth the paper they were written on much less what it cost to get them for most people in this country. Skilled electricians don't dig the ditches, and everyone needs one.

Consider yourself less fucking stupid asshole.

oh really and your suggesting that this fucken clusterfuck of a monetary system can be improved upon with what you are offering?

in case you havent noticed the fed has done everything to keep this thing together whilst trying to keep a lid on inflation which is impossible if you understand basic monetary and economic principles.

there is no sensible solution whilst this system rests on shaky foundations you fucking muppet.

when you understand this then maybe you will be able to deal with it.

you sir, are the fucking stupid asshole.

All they have done is keep interest rates artificially low to benefit the investor class in ponzi scheme of greed until they can develop the next bubble.

You obviously don't know who you are talking to I'm not a glp'er.
