They didn't shoot it. It's a photo of a stillborn baby with a terrible condition. Someone saw the photo, cooked up a story that it was a wood nymph or alien or some dumb shit, and that the natives "shot it" Didn't happen.

Harlequin babies simply cannot live more than a few hours without extraordinary measures and are usually given only comfort care. I am aan apprentice midwife and my preceptor once attended the birth of one. It was truly tragic. Their neurology is sufficiently developed for them to suffer greatly. The photos were grotesque. I hope I never see it.

This thing sort of has the look of Harlequinism, but is too old, as well as the eyes looking too normal. If real, I cannot even be sure it is a human with geneyic mutations. They appear to be in a jungle; some kind of simian maybe?
