Palestine going to the U.N for recognition on the 29th

Vladimir ain't the kinda guy that's going to be intimidated by a nation of gay drama queens.

If the U.S uses its veto against stopping the violence in Gaza it will be a very clear message to the Arab states supporting Palestine that diplomacy won't be effective and "other options" will have to be considered to intervene.

Vladimir Putin's interest in this conflict is in ensuring the following.

1. That Russia is seen as a peacemaker, fostering the country's image as an influential power.

2. Making sure the conflict doesn't escalate to the point where Syria is old news and Russia's biggest arms client in the region is toppled amid distraction by a ground war in Gaza

Hopefully, Michael is ready to stand up tomorrow, November 21.

The U.N is where this has to be decided.

There needs to be a legally binding U.N Resolution that sees international peacekeepers in Gaza and the West Bank.

Heck, existing Resolution 194 envisages Jerusalem as an "international city" (belonging to neither Israel or Palestine).

Before the U.S veto's Russia's resolution on Gaza, the U.S must also remember that Russia has veto power it can use as it wishes.

Including Resolutions the U.S pushes for concerning Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and South Korea.

I have nothing against Russia personally, I think they're very kind and wise people.

The thing that concerns me is that if they're genuinely trying to mediate in Gaza and use their influence, and that mediation is rejected, then it could be a missed opportunity (that costs a LOT of lives).

I think there have been about 8 Foreign Ministers in Gaza, Israel and Egypt over the past 72 hours. The more mediation the better.

Because if it fails, well it's game over. I really think it could be the big one this time.
