Anybody notice that the FLU has started really early?????

I've already heard from people in the medical field that this strand of Flu even causes blood to appear in the feces........

Dunno about blood but my stepson came down with it last night. Wait at the dr office was about 4 hours with all the other sick folk in there. Got him some tamiflu but he puked it up the first time. So far he's asleep holding the second pill down.

Guess I get to look forward to this in a few days.

He can't get worse unless its hospitalization type symptoms. Already 103 fever with chills and aches and nausea and vomiting and headache.

As for me, I fought some diarrhea symptoms yesterday. Still kinda upset today. Hope I don't end up with it but I won't hold my breath.

Do you mean actual influenza or the "stomach flu"? (which is not the flu but gastroenteritis / noroviruses).

My daughter had the flu about 3 weeks ago.It was confirmed at the hospital to be the flu.She was so sick they ran blood tests and did a full workup.She missed days of work and had to stay in bed.Said it was the sickest she had ever been.Whole body hurt,could hardly move,very weak, terrible headache,vomiting,etc.Took her a couple of weeks to feel much better.

If you refer to my stepson yeah he has the flu. Not stomach flu.

Yes. I am in the medical field and my sister is a nurse practitioner as well as a 24 yr. Paramedic and we were talking about how BAD this flu's strain is.

I dont care if i get the crazy looks--- I wont be the one pooping and coughing blood and Im not kidding. This stuff is no joke and we aren't even into the heavy outbreak yet and our e.r. has been nonstop with pts.

This flu is awful this year. I'm very glad to hear about the people who are saying there is a fever with it. The fever is the immune systems way of fighting the flu.

However, everyone in my family had this as well. My husband is diabetic and had his flu shot early, so he is the only one who didn't get it.

My adult daughter was so sick and dehydrated, I had to take her to the ER two times. She was so dehydrated that she required double the normal amount of fluids normally given for dehydration, before she could be sent home. However, she was dehydrated again in 24 hours so we went back for more. Another 24 hours later and she was dehydrated all over again for the third time, except this time I tried a concoction of sugar, salt and lemon in water. She took one small sip every five minutes. This helped us to avoid another ER visit.

I got it myself at the time my daughter was starting to come out of it. I could not lift my head off my pillow for 48 hours.

wow!!!! seems like dehydration is the key to this illness..... I've made my niece stay thoroughly hydrated!!!

It didn't start early here I got it around the same time as I always do but it was about 10 times worse than any other year I can remember since I was 13.

i had the weakest flu in recent years. i guess i got it easy, lucky me

I wouldn't know, I haven't had the flu in over a decade. Haven't had a flu shot in all that time either.

do some research on turmeric and chia seeds.
eat as healthy as possible, high ph is the best.
whenever returning home from public, change clothes right away.
keep hands clean and away from face as much as possible. it has been going around, everyone that i have come across has had it.

I noticed the flu shots started really early. That's when I started taking my Vitamin D.

I got sick for about 12 hours, loss of appetite, light fever and the runs, and then it was over.

Do you know if it's H1N1? That was strange - it came out of Saudi Arabia, if you recall. A guy went to England and ended up hospitalized there. At the time it was thought to be "Sars-like", possibly a new variant of Sars.

Recently, there was a press release out of Saudi Arabia that there were 8 cases of this in a mental sanitorium there during Haaj. They said nothing so as not to cause panic, but they identified it as H1N1. This seemed unreal, so I went back and checked the earlier reports (3 cases) and they were not thought to be flu.

So, yes, the blood in lungs and stools are consistent with this new H1N1 -- would like to learn more about it.

Although, some suspect its the "new" pneumonia vaccine.

My family has members that have Flu in DFW,Austin,Tyler and Galveston. Looks pretty widespread here in Texas and just getting started. Have it myself right now. A bit worse than I've had in the past symptoms wise. My sister has been down with it for a week now and it hit her hard. I believe she had a Flu shot so I guess it's not a certainty to protect against it. Seems like a nasty one this year.
