I don't think there's anything wrong with you still living at home when you're only 23. That's not exactly old. You're barely past your teens. No disrespect.
You should be cherishing your age right now.
Before you know it you'll be thirty( crunch time). Then late 30's( this is when you begin to realize that you're getting old). Then 40's ( mid- life) you need to have your shit together by this age.

If you're still living at home when you're 30 and you have no clear direction then things won't be very favorable.
Most importantly, cherish your youth, try to get/make the most of it, really!
Steer clear of ambition robbing diversions, like drugs and alcohol.
Forget about being popular in others eyes( you'll just waste you're life needlessly).
Try and find those treasures unique to your life that will give you structure and direction ie: positive hobbies..

As long as you're not over-burdening your Mom, I support you. This current lifestyle that humanity has crafted is rather bland and unrewarding and there's not much motivation to go out there and slave your life away for 40 years just so you can retire only to piss your Depends and eat dinner at 4 PM until you kick the bucket.



P.S. I have a friend who is 30 and still living at home. He works full time but it's expensive as hell to rent in this area and I'm sure he's much better off financially living with his parents and working then trying to pay rent.

what kind of heavy drugs are you doin and how often are you usin? is there copious amounts of alcohol drank everyday? how many hours on the internet or playin video games are you loggin? do you have a lot of deadbeat friends makin it still feel like little kid fun? are you and/or your friends moochin and/or stealin from your parents? get the fuck out of your parents home now as you have no right bein there doin what you're doin.

I'm 25 and living in my parent's basement. It sucks, bad. I use to live out in Colorado and I loved it there. I got laid off though from my job. I was going through major depression for 5 years and after I lost my job and the woman I loved I just lost my ambition and desire to succeed, so I was forced to move back with my parents. I turned to alcohol and drugs and they got the better of me. But I am climbing out of this hole and am back in college and getting some IT certifications. I plan to move back to Colorado when I'm done.

Don't let shit get you down. Shit happens, learn from your experiences and make them make you a better person.

Acceptance is key your life sucks just as mine we are sharp people who lack motivation and have no dreams because of our social status. Get in shape, get confident, bang a couple chicks and your dreams and motivation will come back my friend. I'm in the process worked for me before will work again.

Ugh.... Got a 15 and 14 year old. At then commencement of highschool, they have 2 choices and ONLY 2 choices.

1. Go to college and work
2. Dont go to college and work

BOTH choices require exiting the nest. Period

if these kids have a safety net in the event of failure, they will fail. If they are in the "eat or be eaten" mentality, they will succeed.
