I'll have to get back with you on that. From what I have seen though, most people are too out of it when they pass over to care one way or the other.

Re: how does it feel to die?
Death is process of painless separation and realization.

Dying's the one that hurts, depending on the way of death of coarse.

I presume the body would be so flooded with adrenaline etc that you would not feel much, unless it was a slow death.

At the final moment, no it doesn't. In fact the sensation is overwhelmingly euphoric.

What leads up to that moment I imagine may be painful if not excruciating agony.

After every mushroom trip I experienced I always had the serious impression that the experience I just had was like the process of dying. The Tibetan book of the dead describes the death process, which is identical to a psychedelic journey.

it feels like someone is on top of your hrad with a vacuum sucking what you would call your soul out of ypur body. geometric shapes turning in and out and shapeshifting... you are pulled aside by buddas/angels/gods to the other side.

Re: how does it feel to die?
Several years ago when my heart would beat crazy, I went to the ER and they gave me a shot that stops the hearts and reboots it (what the doctor said). It lasted longer than usual on me and they say I died for a few seconds. I just remember a weird feeling that started in my toes and went up. It did not hurt at all it was actually pleasant in a way. But it did scare the crap out of me when they told me about it.

Re: how does it feel to die?
I've been dead twice. It's an incredible relief. You think it's gonna be horrible, painful and scary and you fight like hell to avoid it - but when it actually happens it's peaceful. All that fear stuff just goes away. It feels right. Like you've been pushing a car up a hill all this time and suddenly the weight is lifted. You immediately wonder why you always feared death - it's actually preferable to where you just were. Then it feels like jumping in a fast moving river but in a good way - like a water park ride.

Don't remember anything after that.

Re: how does it feel to die?
I haven't had an NDE, but from those who have it seems like the transition from the physical body to soul can be seamless. Like one second they're in their body, they black out, then wake up in their spirit body looking at their physical dead body just laying there. The closest sensation to death I've experienced is going through hypoxia. It feels like a suffocating nausea and unpleasant lightheadedness as your blood doesn't have enough oxygen.

Re: how does it feel to die?
I spent the past couple of months reading everything I could from accounts of those who have had near-death experiences - so many of them described the fear and pain really not being there, just a sudden change to another state and yet not quite a sudden realization that they were no longer in the mortal bodies - they still looked the same, thought they were alive, strange. You might want to look online for some of their accounts, as they did get to come back and share of it. This has been happening for centuries - in the past due to lack of embalming, and in the present age even more so - due to resuscitation techniques.

Here's one I really liked:

Part 1 of 4 - part 4 is cool because it shows when he begins to wake up after days being dead, according to his family and witnesses:

I cannot find it, but another very similar story I watched recently was of a man who was dead long enough for his body to begin to break down, he said he awoke after all he saw in the afterlife in his own juices - nasty. They had delayed burying him, for whatever reason - often it is not unusual for it to take a few days, anyway.

I had a NDE a few years ago. I was gasping and had never felt such pain before. The white light was present (hypoxia?) and then - WHAM! It was like someone/thing grabbed me and I had never felt such peacefulness.

Too bad I came back.

When I tripped (only once in my life) one year ago, I knew that I had died and come back to reality.

I had not felt that since before I was born (or last time I died). How was that possible? I don't know. But thats what I felt.

So I totally see where you're comming from.

Re: how does it feel to die?
The pain before death was indescribable, it felt as though every limb and philange was being torn from my body, my bones and joints felt like they were breaking constantly and that my flesh was being ripped from my very body, after that there was a unique feeling of utter serenity and calmness as I stared over my body, standing beside my bed and watched my family try to wake me up.

I don't know how long I was experiencing this feeling of peace for, but I remember waking up, sitting straight up in my bed and cupping my face as I bawled my eyes out.

Been experiencing and seeing a lot of things I can't easily describe since then.

I have pericarditis. Sorry I went of topic a little bit. Excuse my spelling, grammar e.c.t.
