Let me set you 3rd world fucks straight with a little history lesson like I've had to do on so many occasions when I used to study Spanish in college in Mexico City a long time ago.

Why do we call ourselves Americans? Because, plain and simple, we were the first on this "super continent" to deserve the name. While the rest of you 3rd world fucktards were still subjects of the British, French, Spanish and Portuguese crowns... there were thirteen British colonies that declared their independence from their European masters and fought a war to solidify their new claim. These 13 former colonies called their new republic of sovereign nations the United States of America. Why? Because they were, at the time, the first and only sovereign nations (states) on the entire AMERICAN supercontinent. Mexico did the same thing with Spain, but they did it almost FORTY YEARS LATER.
So, our county was supposed to change our name because you Latin American fucktards couldn't follow the Americans' example of colonial independence until almost a half century after we kicked the English out?
We were first. The first Americans. We were Americans while every "Brazilian" was still a Portuguese subject. We were Americans while every Mexican was still a Spanish citizen and royal subject and so on and so forth. So guess what you Portuguese asshole...?
