Let me tell you why Kent Hovind lost his tax exempt status, so you won't think all creationist or Christians deserve to be in prison. As I understand it, Kent included in his seven part lecture a segment on a book he sold about the tax protesting 'scarecrow man', where it is claimed Americans are not really citizens libel to tax law due to upper case name spellings ect. -- this has nothing to do with Christianity and when included turned the lecture into a tax protest. Kent was exempt from taxes due to being a ministry, but telling the public they were exempt was the problem.

Then apparently a local Florida University professor who did not like Kent turned him in for this tax protest segment.

Kent and his wife were ultimately found guilty of failing to withhold ministry employee taxes and structured banking deposits.
