Depends on what their mission is as far as scale goes. The Israelis have superior night vision, superior air power. In a full out ground force "invasion" type scenerio I wouldn't see them NOT going at night...near dawn anyway. For commando type raids the dark could be an advantage, could also be a disavantage, that would be decided by the commanders on the ground.

Full scale invasion type operations almost always start with shelling, bombing/air raids and then yes...smaller "unit" type incursions to take out key enemy elements first.

An Israeli source told Hala Gorani of CNN that Israel is insisting on 24 hours of “calm” before agreeing to a deal.

Here is the UN timeline.

1,000 rockets launched at Israel, no one say shit.
Israel shells some rocket launchers and says, we're coming to knock out more.
Everyone freak the fuck out and call on Israel for "restraint".
Media go berserk and wail about Gaza casualties.
See if Israel can get backed off so Hamas can re-arm with better rockets.

Israel are fools if they allow this cycle to repeat itself...again.

I have a feeling they are not going to allow that cycle to continue...

From what I can see those day are over and Israel is finally going to go in and take care of it.

Problem is they are at the mercy of the media and they have to be overly careful about unintentional targets, which seems like trying to take care of yourself in a bar brawl with your hands tied behind your back.

As much as I am enjoying these cams and the news if I was Israel I would shut it all down however I had to and just go in and do what needs to be done.

Sometimes enough is just enough.

Considering the date 12-21-2012, many groups stand to benefit through their actions.

As people are more willing to accept whatever happens on that date as fate. Instead of blaming the administration responsible.

The IDF targeted an Islamic Jihad site in #Gaza. Yunis Shaluf, who was responsible for rocket fire on Eilat several months ago, was killed.

We'll see...just because a lot of people think they should, doesn't mean they will.

I personally think they are being fools if they do not take the opportunity to go in there and disarm Hamas this time.

The next barrage of artillery of rockets is going to include missiles the next time after MB Morsi and Iran get done arming Hamas with far more potent ordinance.

It'll be bad enough now, but it'll be much worse later...and let's face it...if Hamas is allowed to mantian command and control? that "Later" isn't going to be too far off.

It is a difference though if your hands have been tied by the enemy or if you tie your hands yourself. Almost every time Israel chickens out because of world opinion.

Tell you where the real pressure is coming from...the US and the supply chain of military "spare parts"...Israel doesn't have their own re-supply chain in place...we cut that off?...they start having breakdowns with their F-16's and several other aircraft that they cannot get the parts to fix...that severly hurts the IAF in about 6 months...

Hamas official "Tweets" that no agreement on ceasefire has been reached and won't be coming today.

Hamas official Izzat al-Rishq twitted that an agreement over a ceasefire between Israel and the factions in Gaza has yet to be reached, adding that such a deal won't be struck on Tuesday night.

Hearing now that Israel is demanding that a 24 hour period of zero rocket attacks is necessary before any agreement will go forward.

"Hopes for a ceasefire are receding." This is the headline on BBC NEWS24, from just 2 or 3 minutes ago.


Just now 3:15PM HAMAS "Truce not before tomorrow." BBC NEWS 24. The commentary looks like Hamas is trying to set things up for Israel to take the blame for being intransigent.
