Get outdoors for 2 - 3 hours a day and move it. Run, walk, chop wood, climb trees, do anything to exercise your entire body. Exercising the body also benefits the mind, you sharper minded and able to retain the important information when your mind is healthy. |

The book "Why We Get Fat" or "Good Calories/Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes is also a good resource. I've lost 90 pounds since late last October, and my diet is 60-70% FAT most days. I eat well, no hunger, very few cravings. Kick the carbs to the curb. |

Please help :/ Usually the first weight that is lost is from water loss and muscle loss (actually glycogen used in the muscles to maintain blood sugar). Then two weeks later, the real weight begins to occur from both plus some fat loss. It took a long time to gain all that weight, didn't it? It will take a long time to lose it all too. It's frustrating in the beginning because you're hungry. Food offers immediate pleasure to the brain and hence neurotransmitters released to give you a sense of well being. You have to find a replacement. Looking more physically trim and attractive is a long term benefit and gets you noticed. Help yourself get noticed by taking a phot from the side and front with the cam in your laptop or a digital camera. Don't let anyone else see them, but save them. Then when you feel bad, and want to wolf down the potato chips, look at the last four weeks of photos and see how great you're looking. If the body thinks there's not enough water, it will retain water. It's a survival mechanism to prevent dehydration. Weight lifters will drink far more water to prevent that from happening when they want to get more toned (get cut-up) before a competition. You should make sure that you're getting at least 64 ounces (about 2 liters) and probably work towards doubling it. When the body sees plenty of water, then it will allow more fat metabolism to occur. I like eating a burger and fries. It's a lot of calories. I associate it with pain by calculating how many of a certain exercise I must do for a set period to burn off the estimated calories. It stops me from eating it. However, I would recommend the cave man diet unless you have kidney issues. You eat far less complex carbs and more meat. Most people get thinner. Eating raw foods works better too. A fat-free diet generally doesn't work because the body likes fat since it has double the calories per gram (versus carbs or protein). If you need help, one thing you can do is treat yourself on Sundays by eating something small and special. You need the relief valve to handle the stress of dieting. Treat yourself after a month or two by purchasing something that both makes you look better like a single item of clothing. Don't buy too many, for your goal is to keep losing weight. Keeping an old belt showing just how big you got, or finally a picture of you when overweight, or a slide show showing how overweight you were and slowly transforming, these really help keep the weight off. |

No refined sugar or wheats under any circumstance. Lots of vegetables, a little bit of white meat and fish, a little bit of nuts. Don't cut fat. 2. Eat your singular meal in the early evening. It's called intermittent fasting. Look it up. Studies point towards it being actually very healthy and even life-prolonging. Don't buy into that 3 meals a day with breakfast having to be the heartiest one crap. Your body will however take time to adjust, so expect feeling some less energetic at first. 3. Moderate regular exercise. 4. Deal with it despite the shit cards your genetic makeup has dealt you. Yes, some people can gorge on junk food and still stay slim, but they probably won't be all that healthy. |

Some food for thought. I do agree that the entire 12/21 is a money making thing. But what if they are right? A lot of predictions are for this time period by people who could not have known each other. This is something you don’t want a lot of people agreeing on. That said I haven’t read any Mayan books on the subject. Some of the Nose. Makes for good tv. The holidays are coming and I will have to help the TSA by inspecting every pie, cake and turkey the passes by me. :) Once January comes and no doom, time to go back to the diet. It would really suck to get to where my Dr wants me to be just as all food supplies disappear. :) I rather carry a few extra then starve fast. And OP your weight is fine. See a DR to see what he says to make sure everything else is correct. Otherwise you sound fine. Why do people think being super model skinny is how you need to be? |
