confused by this, i remember in the 90s it came out everyone knew all internet traffic was monitored already.

Since the early 1990's the FBI / federal government have had mirror servers attached to every ISP co-location site in the country. Every single bit of data that is transmitted over the internet is stored, filtered and suspect emails, web posts etc are flagged based upon specific keywords. If something you send trips a flag, the feds get a FISA warrant and open an investigation. This will basically eliminate the FISA process. Look up the FISA stats, last time I checked, 99% of all applications are granted so this really isn't going to change all that much. It's just much more overt.

Even if not, what do people think the Patriot act says?

There is probably going to be alot of fake profiles anyway, most people on the Internet are fake so it is useless data material, inaccurate, phony and a waste of money and time.

I think we all know they've been monitoring us for ever.... What this bill does is allow them to use any information that they illegally obtain to lock us up. Before people could have claimed it was a violation of the 4th amendment, with this bill their fucked.

Everybody needs to download and learn how to use GPG. It may be a bit confusing at first, but is actually simple to use once you're past the learning curve. It helps to get a friend or family member involved so you can practice together. Just DO IT while you still can!

Ok, I will agree with this statement. "They" are abolishing the Constitution, it is too big of a pain in the ass for the elites. Right now they have to waste their money on Elections, Lobbying etc. etc. With the constitution gone, they can simply have their will done without the extra expenses.

it's not a coincidence that google was his #3 campaign doner or that Facebook execs meet with them on a weekly basis. These companies are all very good at using data and they have all become part of this government program.
