Yes it is very, very bad.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28109230

I guess, OP, regardless of it being good or bad, it is happening, and I doubt much can or will be done to stop it.

Sadly, most major events around the GoM will probably be treated as such. That is, until it is no longer viable or stable to remove oil and gas from the areas.

Ultimately, maybe 10 years from now, I think much of the current populace will live inland, or along the new sea way connecting the Great Lakes to what was once the GoM.

i don't have much to add, but that is what scares me the most - i don't think most people are aware of "the sinkhole" let alone the potential for mass doom or even a potential ELE lurking down there

The tides explain it all.

Not those influenced by the surface water, but those connected to the deep ocean that have breeched the salt layers all the ways down to where the DWH went down.

The tides will slowly saw away at the rest of the domes and veins and layers until the land drops. Instant sea way.

Status of Hydrogen Sulfide in Bayou Corne Area

Prepared by Gary R. Hecox, Ph.D., Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc.

Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. (Shaw) has reviewed existing data and is currently collecting new data to evaluate the conditions related to the hydrogen sulfide observed in the Texas Brine Relief Well #2 completed in the cap rock. At all times, protection of local residents and project staff is and will remain the top priority when making decisions and recommendations for response activities related to site conditions.

The 'debris' is being cleared.... how about they detail what the debris is?

So far, in this hole, we have fresh water, saline/brine, mud, dirt, concentrated brine/salt, oil(s) of many descriptions, diesel, methanics, hydrogen sulfide, butane - am I missing anything?

What debris can rise from the bottom of the sink hole?

Sheesh.... next they'll be revealing there were caverns down there used for mining and dry storage of goods....

Texas Brine Co. is to submit a plan to Louisiana's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Saturday to permanently plug its vent well that is leaking hydrogen sulfide gas near the Assumption Parish sinkhole, according to company officials Wednesday.

Officials discovered that one of Texas Brine's two wells was letting hydrogen sulfide gas escape, Texas Brine officials said Wednesday.

After discovering the highly poisonous gas, the company informed the DNR Office of Conservation on Wednesday about its plan to seal the well, according to a letter by Commissioner of Conservation James Welsh.

Officials shut the well Monday evening shortly after discovering the hydrogen sulfide was being carried to the surface from the well, according to Texas Brine officials.

Makes me wonder if the feds are beating on Texas for entertaining sucession?

Unexpected fog causes 100 car pile up (in an area that dosn't get fog).

Last week's train wreck that hit a parade on Veterens' Day. The feds control the railways.

Heavier or lighter than water? Heavier one would think. Why rising to the surface?

Just wait until the anti-fracking lobyists get some, and trace it back to frakerfuckers, who have dumped their poison into these domes for 'safe' storage.

Duane Bier built his home on Bayou Corne with his own hands. He thought the house would be a place for him to retire. He chose life on the bayou because of its beautiful scenery. Now his quiet community is marred from the aftermath of a giant sinkhole. Bier and his wife decided it's time to pack up and move.

"I get so disgusted I could pinch off heads," Bier exclaimed.

The Bayou Corne sinkhole area recorded earthquakes mid-week possibly relate to both the further collapse of Napoleonville Salt Dome, according to officials, and to oil drilling reaching 12,340 feet in the Napoleonville Project as reported by an oil company in a press release Thursday.

On Nov. 20 and 21, earthquakes and “long tremors” were recorded in the sinkhole area at Seismic Monitor 8, as reported by Deborah Dupré and then, by the seismologist heading the Itasca Consulting Group as the Principal Geophysicist, Dr. Will Pettit.
