Christmas is actually the pagan celebration of the reincarnation of Nimrod. You are, indeed, following pagan rituals.

"Coincidentally" Nimrod was also named the Lord of Christmas, and xmas signifies the fact that there is no known birthdate for christ.

He is known as the king of Babylon and the builder of the tower of Babel.

The christmas tree was used by his wife/mother (incest was good) to place presents beneath the evergreen tree (christmas tree).

If you read the modern bible and not the King James edition, you have no hope.

My mate was studying to become a pastor and he had some fundamental questions to be answered genuinely because he wanted to know the answers (instinctively, if your entire life is devoted to religion) but at the time he didn't know why those in charge of the bible camp were neglecting to answer them. Turns out he was using critical thinking and was essentially asking questions which, if answered, would undermine the entire religion of Christianity. He was pushed to the outside of the group because he was actually being a thinker and not a droned zombie.

Consider what you think your religion is. Use your brain and not "faith". That is called "brainwashing".

(Nimrod is mentioned in only three places in the Scriptures, Gen. 10:8-12, 1 Chr. 1:10, and Micah 5:6). Only then can he claim that the wife of Nimrod was Semiramis, and that both were worshiped as divine mother and son, etc. Hislop himself recognizes how important this is, in this very interesting sentence:

Now, assuming that Ninus is Nimrod, the way in which that assumption explains what is otherwise inexplicable in the statements of ancient history greatly confirms the truth of the assumption itself (The Two Babylons, 25).

Got that? The point is that this turns out to be a big assumption. In other ancient literature, the father of Ninus was Bel, and it is said that he built the city of Nineveh. The Bible on the other hand says that Nimrod built Nineveh, and that Cush was his father. The way in which Hislop attempts to reconcile this contradiction is a truly remarkable example of literary gymnastics that is hardly convincing. He argues that Bel is the same as Hermes/Mercury, and the same as Janus/Chaos, which is the same as Cush. Right. (See for yourself by reading the "The Two Babylons," 25-29).

It is possible that Nimrod, the grandson of Cush, led people into pagan worship. But the argument that all paganism, and especially that all pagan festivals at the time of the winter solstice, can be traced back to Nimrod, just doesn't hold. To say it is a scholarly stretch is an understatement. Yet most of the "Christmas is pagan" literature bases its arguments on Hislop's thesis."

So by your own use of logic, morality could not exist prior to the alleged life of Jesus, correct? You are telling me that I cannot teach morality absent the teachings of Jesus, therefore one can only conclude that you believe not one of the millions and millions of human beings that existed for the thousands and thousands of years of human civilization prior to the existence of Jesus Christ could have lived a moral lives because Jesus' teachings had not yet surfaced. I believe I am using my brain here as what you called me to do at the end of your post. The result is the twisting and distorting of Gods Word. You used Alexander Hislop's thesis. Of which he openly admitted to making a big assumption in it and then twisting and distorting Gods word in the bible (Where it directly says Nimrods father was Cush) to relate Cush as several other peoples and names. Trying to say that all these people were the same as Cush. You are seriously misguided and if you are truly going to find the truth then at least find out the origins of your sources and trace them back to fact.

But that day in Roman times was named in honor of the god Saturn. Would that make our festivals on Saturday pagan? Of course not. But this is the kind of faulty logic used by the "Christmas is pagan" crowd."

Here's a thought. Why don't we expose our kids to different experiences, view points, etc. so they can learn and grow.

I did not force religion on my kids, I wanted them to find their own truth and they turned out just fine and have different beliefs bases on what they think, not what I told them to think.

I was raised Roman Catholic (I am no longer) and would be in deep shit if I ever questioned anything as a kid.

Or, as Phenn mentioned keep your kid home that day, simple. Why ruin it for those that want to go? Selfish...

Christmas is a fake holiday. In fact most holidays are fake and are designed just to get you out there and spending money during wall streets slow winter months.

As a true Atheist, I love christmas and take no offence to it. Those fakers should keep their hands off of it.
