Why you CANNOT "do all things" through Christ as is written in Philippians 4:13. Is the verse wrong?

I was late coming to an understanding of what Paul was describing in Phil 4:13, maybe in the last 10 years or so.

Sometimes misinterpretations get so ingrained in our Christian culture that they become "truth." I am grateful to you, OP, for pointing out some of these, whether it's this thread or the "hell" thread or some of the others.

Think for a moment about all the ways God has met the needs of His people throughout history.

When Israel was in the wilderness, they had no supermarkets or grocery stores. There was not even a blade of grass in sight. But God rained down manna from heaven so the people would have bread, and He caused birds to fall by the bushel from the sky so they would have meat. He caused water to gush from a rock. And He supernaturally kept their shoes and clothing intact, so that they never wore out in forty years of use.

In the Old Testament, we read that a hungry prophet was fed by a raven. A barrel of meal and a bottle of oil supernaturally replenished themselves. And an entire enemy army fled upon hearing a strange noise—leaving behind enough supplies to feed an entire city of starving Israelites.

In the New Testament, we read that water was turned into wine. Money was found in a fish's mouth to pay taxes. And five thousand people were fed with only five loaves of bread and two fish.

All these miracles of supply cry out to us, "God is faithful. He can be trusted!" And in Leviticus 25, we read of another supernatural phenomenon—an especially ripe harvest in the year before the sabbath for the land.

Next, God commanded that the people observe seven consecutive cycles of sabbaths for the land: "Thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years" (verse 8). In other words: "You are to celebrate this sabbath every seventh year, for a period of forty-nine years—seven sabbaths times seven."

In biblical terms, the forty-nine-year period would comprise a whole generation. The implication here is that such a period would provide enough time for an entire generation to learn to trust the Lord. Over that time, parents and grandparents would build up a history of faith, so they could tell their children: "Yes, it's true! God supplied everything we needed the first six years, but when the seventh year came, many of us were afraid. Yet God's provision saw us through to the eighth year, and right up to the ninth. Sometimes it was frightening, but there was always enough. No one starved, and no one had to beg. Every need was supplied. God tested our faith—and He remained faithful!"

The point is, when God says, "Trust me," He means it!

The key words are "through Christ" and not "do all things". Naturally there are things we can not do, we can only do all things when Christ allows it so they have to be things that He would approve of and that a human can do. Otherwise we could fly (without a plane)and be like Superman and do all kinds of things that God did not create man to do.

i hear you. but i think the verse means more of "we can endure, manage, cope, tolerate all things" instead of actually "do all things"

If you take christ to mean the spirit stream that animates the body, then yes it is capable of anything, as it is immortal and not bound by physical limitations...

However, your spirit stream is attached to your soul, which does not reside in the body... This being is in ultimate control of what you can and cannot do...

You are here for lessons and bound by the rules of this galaxy game... You, as the incarnation are not aware, as intended, in order for you to be fully immersed in the game...

But, your soul is fully aware and is subtle direction of your path... This direction can take you down many paths, including the one god religions...

The one god belief is a fallacy, your soul knows it... But, in order to fully understand something, you need to be immersed in it...This is why many incarnations are heavily involved...

Very necessary, as the lessons learned and energy structure is passed on to other incarnations who flush religion and the many other control structures over their lives down the toilet, in preperation for departure and graduation from this galaxy game...

The ONLY way to make the Bible promises work for your life is to be full of the Anointing, and to be in God's will for your life, doing God's will for your life.

You cannot be a worldly or self-centered Christian, as that will NOT work, as you can see. You have to bow your knee to Christ in all things in your life, abandoning your selfish ambitions, and forgetting about doing your own thing. You have to obediently accept His will for your life in all things, and do them, or, as you see, the Christian life will not work otherwise. All things have to be done in God's will, including prayer. Most Christians have no Holy Ghost power to live victorious, and actually don't want it. However, you are nothing without Christ, the Anointed One!!! Everything He did was in submission to the Father, and done by the power of the Anointing!

You are a shining example of an incarnation who is fully immersed in the prime control tool of this game...

what part of that post do you struggle with? because personally, i don't see anything wrong with it.

I do not struggle with the post...

I am pointing out the workings of the game for those who can grasp it...

because, as far as i'm concerned, this isn't a game.

I seems like you mean this pejoratively, but you might consider that there is an upside to being as "fully immersed" as the above person is saying we should be...

if you think you are just here to empower yourself and build ego... sure, you can learn to do all kinds of things, like heal people, levitate, access spirit demons/guides, manipulate your environment... live a loooong time even...

but this is likely NOT the essence of the the reason an intelligent Designer created you and you may be losing something greater...

I say this as someone who is still of the world in many respects--I like to cook, make music, enjoy sensual things... but I recognize this is not an end and slowly I am steering myself more towards the non-worldly perspective...

No, of course not - those fully immersed do not, nor are they intended to recognise the mechanics...

In the big picture, it is a game...

The object - learn as much as you can, full sensory immersement...Then flush the controls down the toilet, and depart... Taking with you a wealth of experiences that could have only been gained by fully immersing yourself in - YES, this galaxy game creation...

It only means, that if your soul is towards his speach, you can learn, what is bad and what not, so that you can catch some good ideas for your behaviour as a ghost, which is given from the Almighty, and will be taken away from your body one day again.

There is no salvation for the physical, in the physical...

However, I would do away with your notions of sin... No sin, only experiences, some very trying and some very pleasant... Both equally valuable...

You are in the physical at this time for a reason...

Learning to gain control of the flesh is a major challenge and some of the mechanics of the game...

But, I would not say "no good thing in it"... Without this cumbersome, limiting tool, you would not grow... Nothing like a good challenge to whip you into shape...

Spiritual growth reqiures training and challenge, and as I have alluded to earlier - you must be fully immersed...

After the immersement, you recognise the training on this planet for what it is - fallacy... I am mainly talking religion, but it can also apply to every other hierarchial situation on this planet...
