Quoting: SwampRatLost I would love to look into this further New information leaked from AT&T reveals that the major Internet service provider will start warning customers who are being monitored for illegally downloading copyrighted files beginning on Nov. 28, which is now seen as the unofficial start date for the telecoms' six-strike policy to combat online piracy. The documents, obtained by Torrent Freak, also detail AT&T’s intention to block a customer’s access to his or her most visited websites until they sign an acknowledgement that they’ve been notified that copyrighted material has been illegally downloaded to their computer. The six-strike effort has been heavily lobbied for by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) ever since the SOPA/PIPA bills failed to pass Congress last year. more: [link to www.ibtimes.com] |

They are preparing for something big here in the U.S. something so big that they can not allow any type of communication with other people outside of what is happening. So they will shut down your communication abilities! This will be a civil action that government takes in some fashion against its own people! These are the only reason any kind of censorship is used ever!! BEWARE!! |

I might look into something like a VPN as they start cracking down on torrents though. It sucks that they're doing this, but let's be honest... There are a lot of people on the internet that ignore copyright law, you can't blame them that much for taking extreme action. |

This has to do with direct censorship actions and access to communication and information outside of their control!!! Wonder how many providers are going to spend astronomical amounts of money repairing things pissed off customers break. Or people damaging coax cables when they move, a staple or two in random places can fuck the cable too and is very very hard to find. |
