So not only was Grinnell running its inherently insane team system, it was obviously running it with the express purpose of getting Taylor enough shots to score an utterly mind-blowing number of points.

He had to have the skills to make the shots. Why does it matter what his opponents looked like? Sure he's not going to do that against a Top 10 or even top 50 team, but still impressive. This is Division III.

I suspect those schools have much stricter academic standards......

if some one goes for over 50 points in a bball game it better be because they are very very hot and not because they chuck every single shot in the game.. he wasnt even shooting better then 50%.. it wasnt like he was on fire.. he was just bombing away.. and for reason the coach must have told him to fire every single shot..
