Birth control pills shouldn't need prescription, docs say
Women should be able to buy birth control pills over-the-counter at pharmacies without a prescription, a group of doctors says.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) said today that increasing women's access to birth control in this way could reduce the rate of unplanned pregnancies in the United States, which has not changed in the last 20 years. About half of U.S. pregnancies are unintended.
Although selling birth control pills over-the-counter (OTC) comes with risks — like any drug, the pill has potential side effects, and there are concerns it would be used by women who should not take the drug — these are outweighed by the benefits, the ACOG says. [link to vitals.nbcnews.com]

I'm with them on that one.
The idea of having to face a pap smear just to get the pill has delayed plenty of women I know from getting the things. It's just the kind of uncomfortable intrusion that's incredibly easy to put off forever.

Birth control & replacement hormones have more side affects listed than any other drug on the market.

They need a prescription & then some.

The risk far outweighs any benefit as the risk will vary from child to child.

All women aged between 18 and 70 years should have a Pap test every two years, even if they have had the cervical cancer vaccine. Nine in 10 women who develop cervical cancer either have not had a Pap test or have not had them regularly.

Make it safer, and I will agree. BC pills aren't candy, they do carry a rather long list of side effects and some are pretty damn dangerous.

Here's an idea, get these orgs out of your breeding. Before you know it, we will require permission to breed, and then, only the most tainted gene pools will be allowed to procreate (you know, the leaders, who happen to carry the most defunct genes).

Humans can barely plan or control their own cities, are you going to trust them to decide what breeding patterns are best for the species??
