This was already tried. We had the votes and Rick Perry stepped in at the last minute to make sure he didn't back up all of his tough talk against Washington. Obama admin threatened a state wide no fly zone as well.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19325354

I would like to see that no fly zone pledge kept....don't think so. Other States would catch and jump on board too quickly..and then what will Obama do.

Fed money to the states comes with strings and obliges the states to institute and perpetuate Fed programs, however odious.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18981016

They are gifting NOTHING to Texas. Texas receives 80 cents on every dollar they give to the Federal government. Texas will be better off without the fed.

What people need to understand is that Fed money to the states is money the Fed took from citizens of those states in the form of federal income taxes. Would it not make more sense for the states to put the fed on an allowance they (the states) control rather than the current extortion the states must endure?

Yes, there will be a transition for Texas, but in the end, they will no longer be enslaved to a collective system.

First of all, Texas is a state which pays out more than it gets from the feds. Here's a chart from a liberal website, see what side TX is on:

That is exactly what I said -- Texas received 80 cents of every dollar they pay out. That means a net loss of 20% of taxes they pay.

OBTW, I have owned property in Texas for over 10 years, have close family living there, will likely retire there & have a working knowledge of what goes on.

Rick Perry and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst spiked the bill two years ago at the behest of their psychopathic overlords. IOWs it would had passed. It's also why Dewhurst lost to Ted Cruz for US Senate.

Dewhurst could serve his overlords or the people but he couldn't have both. He chose the former.

Re: TEXAS prepares to NULLIFY the TSA and NDAA
Texas politicians will fold faster than a cheap suit, just like they did last year. Texas is all bark and no bite like the rest of America. We love high taxes and tyranny here in the good ol' USSA. It feels so good to live in the land of the fee and the home of the slave.

And because I saw someone in this thread say something to the effect of "it's ridiculous that our country has to try to overturn federal decisions such as NDAA and the TSA organization." If you think that's bad, Dennis K. tried to pass a bill this year that would make it illegal for the federal government to kill American citizens without a trial. Forward!
