In the 1920's they decided disease was to be treated with pharmaceutical drugs and certainly not cheap electricity. They have the same attitude towards MJ.

I'm glad the UN is sticking its nose in the states' business so that when the states tell the UN to fuck off it will make the UN look that much more stupid.

It's more like, the UN wants the US government to stick its nose into States' business. Have the SCOTUS find some bogus reason to rule those state referenda invalid, that sort of thing.

Ahh, the ordainment to dictate policy.

Always nice when you dont have to interact with the people that actually have to enforce and live under said policy; always nice to live in a fantasy world of control and power while the emperor walks around with no clothes.

Such premature measures unite the bottom with the middle; and makes everything much more expensive for the top to maintain control.

Great plan guys; im sure enforcement would love to double their pay by sympathizing with the bottom up movement and gaining political and social leverage over the top through their unions... a Bottom-Middle class unity relationship could become permanent; that's the way it should be.

The Democrat activists that I've delt with (and one was particulary vile), are ALL for U.N. control of this nation.

The Left is completely sold out to world control.

Look up how many times the leftist groups have run to the U.N. for intervention in our nation, particularly concerning allowing illegals and just anyone w/o any ID vote.

They WANT the U.N. over us.

the other side of this is all the peeps who work jobs where they get tested... i had a dude over here who was Mr. Big Lebowski, hooking up my internet and he was like "I only smoke once a year when I go on vaca... think of all the dudes who used to make music and smoke who now go home and watch tv and drink beer only... this guy told me he used to make music--it never occurred to him it was the deadening lifestyle he was on...

I used to smoke as a lifestyle and it inspired... now I read the bible and get the same inspiration... but dudes like him are screwed...

so where it used to be majority smoke it is less and less as it becomes mandated out... of course, he can drink himself silly whenever he wants--I shared some reishi vodka I made w him once I got hooked up, but herb lasts a month...

Re: UN Drug Czar: States Can't Legalize Marijuana Under International Law
could they not do the same this time around? It is (or it SHOULD BE, anyways) as easy as saying
Back in 02 when 9/11 was still fresh in everyones mind, the US withdrew from the ABM treaty, "With respect to international law, the US must formally withdraw from this treaty to protect our states' rights and the will of the people within those states". After all, withdrawing from a treaty doesn't automatically mean you are against it.

(Of course I'm sure they drafted the treaty so that simple solution becomes nearly impossible to enact)
 Quoting: The Myth

The US should withdraw from the UN, but this would be a start.

And yeah---FUCK YOU,United Nations!

blah blah blah....

They can shut their traps, build a bridge and get over it. The people have spoken. (I'm sorry, I don't remember voting to allow the UN control over my state or country)

Do they plan on invading and occupying both Washington and Colorado to enforce their utter bullshit international law? It's a fucking plant people! Bring it on! Otherwise the UN should shut up and realize that they still have the hard drugs to smuggle in to countries to fund their black projects and line their pockets.

Marijuana being "illegal" is in itself crazy!
Making ANY PLANT that grows naturally on the planet "illegal" makes no sense whatsoever!
Plant derivatives/extracts or formulations I could see.
But a plant in its raw and natural state??
Completely ludicrous!

It's really as crazy as saying one day Rose bushes should be illegal because of the vitamin-c content in their buds!

If we weren't designed to consume Marijuana, why would we have Cannabinoid Receptors?? [link to en.wikipedia.org]

I think the world needs to take another look at Marijuana laws and stop catering to big-pharma money and lobbyists on the issue!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1673157

The evil powers or population controllers that be know that the cannibinoids in the hemp plant are beneficial to human health that's why they demonized it. The very same type of cannibinoids exist in RAW MILK, jee I wonder why it's criminal to purchase raw milk??

Time for the truth to set us free and heal the world.

The president of the UN's International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), Raymond Yans, wrote a threatening letter to the U.S. government to challenge marijuana legalization in Colorado and Washington.

Apparently the voters in Colorado and Washington were unaware that they would have to not only fight off the federal government, but global drug czars as well in their effort to exercise their local sovereignty.

Great response guys & gals.
Now then - seriously, are you ready to put your money and or you life behind your words?
There are only a few of them, but they do have lots of trained bots who would bomb and invade to back up their ridiculous so-called law.

How about religion?
What do the religious say about this?
Their own Bibles clearly state that their God created all the plants for their use.
They get real tore up when you point this out to them.
They seem to be in agreement the man's law should trump God's law.
What hypocrites they are!

Anyone religious here have a say on this?

Legalized GROWING of hemp is the number one most empowering legal thing people can do to take back their power...

otherwise you don't know how it is grown and what it is treated with...

juicing for perfect health, vaporizing for smokeless cancer suppression, greater imagination and creativity... less violence... more enjoyment... greater spiritual awareness (under the right circumstances--I wonder if this is the reason God allows tptb to make a weed illegal to grow: it enhances sensual over the spiritual... peeps are not mature enough to use it properly...

can be used as an energy source...

Re: UN Drug Czar: States Can't Legalize Marijuana Under International Law
having studied international law
i can say that any treaty is only good as long as the countries involved support the treaty
a treaty can be terminated at ANY time
they are not forever binding
and even if violated they are difficult to enforce given sovereignty issues
and even if this is ignored and they pursued it legally
that would mean a hearing before the ICJ
which would take forever
and even then there's no way for them to enforce such a "law"
what can they do?
put sanctions on the US?
lmao
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27809652

What it could do more immediately is give our dear leaders an excuse to clamp down on states which use their sovereign rights to pass laws TPTB don't like.

Just watch....Obama is a UN toady and he will chime right in with them unless he gets strong pushback from the public.

Yans reminds the United States that they agreed to the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, which was agreed to by 185 States, decided to place cannabis under control and limit its use to medical purposes.

Yans is confused. FEDERAL gov agreed, not State govs. So its still just State vs Federal.

UN doesn't get a say here.
