High levels of ‘extremely dangerous gas’ reported near giant sinkhole — Newspaper removes ‘poisonous’ from headline
Please be advised that H2S is an extremely dangerous gas. Unlike methane, it is heavier than air and collects at low to the ground levels. No community air monitors have detected H2S. Monitoring will continue as usual.

Re: High levels of ‘extremely dangerous gas’ reported near giant sinkhole — Newspaper removes ‘poisonous’ from headline
Hydrogen sulfide is considered a broad-spectrum poison, meaning that it can poison several different systems in the body, although the nervous system is most affected. The toxicity of H2S is comparable with that of hydrogen cyanide. It forms a complex bond with iron in the mitochondrial cytochrome enzymes, thus preventing cellular respiration.

Exposure to lower concentrations can result in eye irritation, a sore throat and cough, nausea, shortness of breath, and fluid in the lungs. These effects are believed to be due to the fact that hydrogen sulfide combines with alkali present in moist surface tissues to form sodium sulfide, a caustic.[15] These symptoms usually go away in a few weeks.

Long-term, low-level exposure may result in fatigue, loss of appetite, headaches, irritability, poor memory, and dizziness. Chronic exposure to low level H2S (around 2 ppm) has been implicated in increased miscarriage and reproductive health issues among Russian and Finnish wood pulp workers,[16] but the reports have not (as of circa 1995) been replicated.

Not good. I live in Louisiana...granted, the top end, but we have enough going on in this state, we don't need a giant chunk of it to blow or people to be poisoned over this thing.

Most folks don't realize how many salt mines and cavernous areas are under us. We may be at sea level or below but we are sitting on top of giant holes (aquafers and natural gas).

If I spent today asking random strangers around town what they know about this situation in Louisiana, I could nearly guarantee that less than 1 in 10 would know ANYthing was going on there.

It's beyond 'out of sight, out of mind'... they don't know, don't care.. it's dangerous and likely is actively harming people on a daily basis.

But it's invisisible. Unmentionable.

I don't understand it.

Mind control would suggest there's still some residual intellect in the country.

If the media ignores it, people ignore it.

Obviously the media has a limited script they're allowed to follow.

I'm old enough to remember 'investigative journalism'... that doesn't exist anymore.

We're just so comfortable being sheep, why ask questions?

Texas Brine has reported high levels of H2S from their sonic vent well that is drilled into the cap rock. The well was shut in due to these levels.

I have a theory. Demons typically are known to have a sulfurous smell to them. I have experienced this first hand. Maybe that sinkhole is a portal to hell in the spirit realm and demonic spirits are rising out of it, spreading more evil in this world.

Thanks OP.

There was a very thorough explanation of all of this on our local news last night. It was also surprising, with how Dire they made the situation sound.

Here is a link to the rebroadcast, it is the first story covered so, you do not have to watch the whole thing.

Has Texas Brine done anything yet to actually improve the situation?

Anything at all?

Is there a point when DNR or some other entity just makes them stop?

Stop thinking, stop drilling, stop cracking apart the earth?

It must be cheaper somehow to handle things badly.

That is some scary stuff right there. So, it develops as a gas, when the temp rises. IT IS DEADLY.... IT IS 3 TIMES MORE FLAMMABLE then Natural Gas. AND CAN IGNITE with MUCH LOWER OXYGEN LEVELS??????

The fact that it can ignite with lower oxygen levels is significant.

Well they have gotten away with it several times before. This isnt the first time a situation like this has happened with Texas Brine, and they get a slap on the wrist, then walk away from the situation.

Man, it's just going from bad to worse daily... I really feel for the people in LA... They have been through so much in the last, what 5 or so years, it's just terrible. Doesn't seem like they are ever going to get a break. I also worry about my seester, she is on the LA/TX border here in TX, I know many miles away, but as the wind blows, and as the saltdomes are situated, etc... I think that we are ALL going to be woken up soon from our slumber to a harsh reality.
