There are only few other territories under occupation by a foreign country where the people are suppressed and have limited to no opportunity and that is Tibet and then the North Caucasus, particularly Chechnya and Dagestan.

Kurdistan doesn't really fit this category. The Kurds in Iraq did under Saddam. But not any longer. In Turkey, Syria, Iraq they all free with just as much opportunity as the rest of the citizenry. Now in Syria and Iraq they also have much autonomy too.

Oh, and obviously the worst occupation on earth atm is of course Palestine.
