I'm coming to think the bans are useful in keeping out paid disinformants.

I read somewhere else a paid disinformant was kept out of GLP because of the bans.

Not when their total debate consists of name calling and obscene suggestions as to what they would like to do to you.

This is often the "debate" offered by those who post under the protection of AC and refuse to register so that they have a permanent identity.

and I have NEVER received money
to post here.

that's what keeps people hating and divided and ignorant of how people who think differently actually think
it inhibits actually understanding other points of view
and growing spiritually so that one can accept that other points of view are valid other people who have different paths to walk and different lessons to learn and different kinds of knowledge to share
when we're open with each other and speak our truths we learn compassion
and if people are compassionate with each other (as any real god would intend)
then it's difficult to hate, isn't it?
and, in the end, look at most issues people fight over
does it really matter, in the grand scheme of things, if one is "right" all the time?
if one is always right then how does one learn?

Instead of banning members from reading threads entirely. Why not just ban them from participating in discussion's?

I feel its extremely wrong for anyone to be banned from this site. This is the "real news station" for me. (eat your heart out cnn)...
Being banned has limited my ability to focus on real issues that main stream media fails to bring to light.

So If you do ban someone. It shouldn't be a ban that takes away their ability to read the threads here. That is blood on your hands for failing to give them needed updates on important topics. If the media is blackballing a story and this community is producing life saving information, such as topics like the fukushima nuclear crisis, or the salt dome / sinkhole. People need to know that information. They should be able to depend on this site thick and thin. Regardless if they aren't the friendliest of people.

So Please consider modding your bans. For the sake of others...

It really isn't fair for glp to turn anyone down in my opinion, unless they are continually harassing others. and or providing poor or misleading information (attn shills and bad apples). However even these individuals deserve to know if they are in danger.

So I truly hope that you read this, and consider this. You could also create a open thread for them to post on (the banned). This way when an important issue comes to light, they can still post potentially key information, so that the community can consider events and potentially important information from them while they are on time out.

You never know if someone steps into a wealth of information in this day and age. So I would at least give them some sort of outlet, so that they can connect with other like minded individuals, which tend to listen, instead of shun them for their "Conspiracy theories"/

I've been banned three times today, And all I've done is post fairly respectful comments on this threat...

Don't you think that any "Paid" disinformant would get his membership paid for by whoever is paying him?
And after all Paid Memberships are immune to bans.
So the Paid Disinformant would Never get banned.
So what do the bans really do?

They keep me out.
I get banned for months and I haven't even said anything that would get me banned anywhere else.

So I quit coming here as often.
I stop by every few weeks or so.

GLP does have a lot of interesting discussions.

There are always people with different views and opinions.
