The other shoe...
Do you remember the months (and years) after 9/11 when collectively as a nation we were all waiting for the other shoe to drop and it never did?

You could simply feel it in the air... The waiting and waiting was almost unbearable.

I was living in DC at the time...  The powder scares, the snipers - everyone instinctively knew as bad as those were, it wasn't the other shoe...

I remember wanting it to just drop so I could rid myself of the feeling, the tension...  I didn't want anyone to be hurt but the aprehension was almost unbearable...  Gradually, it subsided both personally and as a nation...

The feeling is back...  And thru reading today's posts and those thru out the week, I'm not the only one...  It's not Israel, it's not Obama, it's not the fiscal cliff - but it's out there looming....  What is it?

The power here cut out this morning (it's back on thank God) but the first thing I did (after posting to GLP!) was put the bug out bags in the truck...  I've never done that before...

thoughts, please...

I have to agree with you. It feels like the shit is in the air close to the fan. It seems like everything is moving so fast, it is going to be a pile up sooner or later.

Re: The other shoe...
911 was totally different. It was NOT expected, it happened, all of a sudden, no warning, nothing.
This time, we have several different opinions(theories) of a specific period of time. Many believe and even "feel it", its something that burns deep within that little spark snapping in our heads like a lighter near a gas pool. We only hear it snapping, but we don't know what the gas really is.

Have you noticed people feeling sick, nauseated, feeling "weird", dizziness, behaving differently than usual?

Well, I've been looking around and I've noticed a LOT of people with many different symptoms, like a subconscious message that something is just not right. You can do the same, ask you family, friends, co-workers, if they are experiencing something unusual and be surprised by the high number of odd feelings...

right - I agree with you - that's partly why it was so shocking...

But what I'm talking about - at least personally - is that feeling afterwards for quite some time - like it wasn't "finished". That's the feeling that's back... That exact feeling...

It's hard to describe but it's an adrenaline fueled, sometimes teary, kinda of tenseness and aphrension... it's not paranoia or depression... It's a holding pattern while waiting to save your ass if it boils down to that...

Like a tightness in your gut right before you do the free fall on a roller coaster.

It is effecting everyone. Not just doomtards. All the "normal" people that work for me feel it too. I see tension from my guys more and more that never used to be there.

Everyone feels that something is not right.

It feels the same here in Europe too.

Honestly I believe this will be very bad, like, pre-9/11 was kind of an awesoem time, it felt good, pleasurable, fun... Afterwards it was all going downhill for a bit but not all that much actually. Sure we have been going backwards on a lot of things but this isn't it.

When the other shoe drops, then we'll see how bleak the world can really get :(

Yea, seems to be dangerous times, but do not let worry or fear drive your thoughts.

Examine and balance the bug out bag that lies in your heart maybe.

But eh, Me thinks the news outlets and a few leaders just need to put their hands on some good nookie, and get their damn hands off the that nuke button.

Thoughts? I think you should get a life. It is not healthy to worry about things to the extent that you are, OP.

Besides, if the 'S' really did 'HTF' your stupid "preps" and/or "bugout bags" aren't going to save you anyway so I say again: Get a life.

No - this isn't fear... I'm not fearful. It's dread... It's not even anxiety - it's hard to explain... it's just that thickness of inevitability... It's heartbreaking...

One thing said - I am a believer. I have ultimate faith God is in control. But I've never had or understood the joy of the end game. Mercy, mercy. How can I be happy millions or billions will suffer, no matter how just it may or may not be...

But I'm not even talking about this in the "end times" construct - more of a crappy world construct... Not everything is Armageddon...

You miss my point entirely... I actually have a really full, happy life... I have a job i love, great kids, awesome hubby... I have faith, health and money...

What I'm talking about is not an obsession, but a very real recent phenomena that I've experienced personally and observationally in others...

BTW, I have bug out bags cuz I am a practical planner... Like I said I lived in DC during some scary times... They're not just for TSHF... I've used them for lots of last minute needs like when I had a dying friend and had to literally bolt out the door with kids within minutes for a 4 hour trip to joyful occasions like spree hiking/camping trips. And we get hurricanes AND tornadoes here, so stop being a turkey...

I will assume your just trying to be helpful, but it wasn't - I don't think you get what I'm talking about. But then again maybe you do and I'm the turkey!

peace
