Is God more likely to prevent,...or intercept nuclear genocide?
Which would most conclusively resolve the issue of Universal Sovereignty?

"While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”
.... “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
....... And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short." Mt24:21

Based on WWII, I'd say neither.

Knowing the correct answer means it's good to have powerful friends in higher places.
And I saw three unclean inspired expressions [that looked] like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the wild beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and perform signs, and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.
15 “Look! I am coming as a thief. Happy is the one that stays awake and keeps his outer garments, that he may not walk naked and people look upon his shamefulness.”
16 And they gathered them together to the place that is called in Hebrew HarMageddon." Rv16:14
Otherwise there is no hope of an interception.

Jehovah will give Jesus the go ahead more likely to intercept than prevent because if he prevented a mass launch it could be said man built them but never really used them. Waiting for a mass launch to destroy Satan's global military industrial complex would likely be the most opportune time possible to settle the issue of universal sovereignty.
"I saw also an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice and said to all the birds that fly in midheaven: “Come here, be gathered together to the great evening meal of God, 18 that YOU may eat the fleshy parts of kings and the fleshy parts of military commanders and the fleshy parts of strong men and the fleshy parts of horses and of those seated upon them, and the fleshy parts of all, of freemen as well as of slaves and of small ones and great.”
19 And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army. 20 And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who render worship to its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulphur. 21 But the rest were killed off with the long sword of the one seated on the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth. And all the birds were filled from the fleshy parts of them." Rv19:19
Otherwise, all life on earth would become extinct by nuclear winter.

Mankind has surrendered to Satan's demand for total human sacrifice but Jehovah has a better idea;
"And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut [it] and sealed [it] over him, that he might not mislead the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After these things he must be let loose for a little while." Rv20:1

If you can not figure out that those who hold the reigns of the money can and could MAKE YOUR ARMAGEDDON happen... well not very well thought out.

Why would the wealthy want their wealth ruined?
"‘Into the streets they will throw their very silver, and an abhorrent thing their own gold will become. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s fury." Eze7:9
