Nothing will happen. Remember how last time they said they'd attack the south if the balloons crossed into their territory. Did anything happen? No.

I can go through past incidents like this one by one but everyone else is also well aware of this already. Just gonna be another bit of "noise" from the North - nothing gonna happen

Korean peninsula teeters on brink of war, Pyongyang says

War between North and South Korea could break out at any moment, an ambassador from Pyongyang told the United Nations. He accused Seoul of instigating conflict and ‘increased hostilities’ towards Pyongyang.

Ri Tong-il, North Korea’s ambassador to the UN, said in an address that “no one knows when war will break out” between the two antagonistic nations.

“The situation on the peninsula is on the brink of explosion,” Ri said, adding that North Korea is a nuclear state not subject to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which he condemned as “blindly” supportive of the US.

He went on to say that the six-way talks that tried to persuade Pyongyang to end its nuclear weapons program had failed.

I'd never seen or heard of that article I have been aware of other balloon launches but none involved with the recent one. but at the same time I don't personally think anything will happen from this but at the same time the threat to shell was done before and it was followed through, Its a case of Kim following in his dads footsteps will he or won't he do this...........

Yeah they could only send a few instead of the while load due to moving to a different location. N Korea only threatens when it needs more food supplies from the UN. Anyway goodnight mate

The south korean cabinet met in a friggin UNDERGROUND WAR SITUATION ROOM back then in 2010, ffs. They were literally at the brink of war with the north.

U.S. warns of possible N. Korean missile launch

North Korea is preparing to launch another long-range ballistic missile, possibly by the end of the month, U.S. government officials told their Japanese and South Korean counterparts.

But there is uncertainty over whether the launch would actually take place so soon with South Korea preparing for a presidential election in December.

According to sources in Japan, the United States and South Korea, cargo that appeared to be missile parts was transferred in early November from a weapons factory in the Sanumdong district of Pyongyang to an assembly plant at the missile launch base at Tongchang-ri, North Phyongan province, in northwestern North Korea.

Satellite photos of the cargo showed similarities to the long-range ballistic missile that North Korea launched in April. That project was a failure as the missile exploded soon after takeoff.

The April launch was conducted about 20 days after the cargo was transported to the launch site, leading analysts to calculate that another launch was technically possible by the end of November.

About a month before the April launch, North Korea said it was planning to launch a rocket carrying a satellite. It also informed the International Maritime Organization of its plans.

According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency, a North Korean official gave a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Nov. 15 and said that Pyongyang would continue to launch commercial satellites. However, as of Nov. 22, North Korea had not made any announcement about a specific launch date.

South Korea holds memorial for victims of North’s 2010 attack on Yeonpyeong

South Korea held a ceremony on Friday to mark the second anniversary of a North Korean artillery attack on the South-controlled Yeonpyeong Island. Two civilians and two marines were killed when the North shelled the island on November 23, 2010. South Korea will open a memorial hall and hold naval drills as part of the ceremony, and Pyongyang warned it would retaliate against “any provocation.” The South Korean PM said that the attack on Yeonpyeong meant that "war in the Korean Peninsula has still not ended," and that “we are confronting a very violent and unpredictable group.”

Later in the day, South Korea conducted simulated and field drills on western border islands under various scenarios of North Korean attacks. The maneuvers involved the Marine Corps, the Navy and the Air Force, but did not include live-fire artillery exercises, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
