You don't know how close you are to nailing it. I think they will use the discovery to say they are absolutely sure life existed somewhere else. Then, a month after they have everyone convinced life existed, aliens will show up and tell us who our maker is. It won't be who you thought.

Oh BTW, the maker wants his gold and silver back!! If you will be kind enough to just bring it to your local Fed Reserve building they will get it to the right alien.
