What gave you the impression that the Messiah was supposed to tell you anything?

The desire to rule and control over others is the root of all evil if you just take a quick look around you.

Things like money, race, land, ethnicity, religion are a means to that end.

So in short those in power use those very things against you. i.e they make you believe that they're important, and you believe them.
