The Logical Fallacy of Promiscuity
There's a lot of sex in the world today. Apparently people (even Christians) think the old idea of waiting until marriage is antiquated and quaint, but there's a logical fallacy that perplexes me about this line of reasoning.

No form of birth control is 100% effective (except for surgery, which is another potential mess). That means there's always a chance that sex is going to result in a pregnancy, which is a very large responsibility that could last for the next 18 years.

Given the potentially serious consequences of taking the risk of having sex, why is the common advice now to simply "wait until you're ready" or "wait until you're in love"? Being emotionally ready for a physical encounter is not the same as being ready to take on the responsibility of raising a child.

I'm not promoting any religious beliefs here. I'm just questioning people's common sense.

So, the men use and seduce the women, run off, and then the women are left to take care of the babies? That could explain things. The people making the decisions aren't the same people who take the risk.

I'm still wondering what the loose women are thinking.

OP start by taking a Myers Briggs or Jungian personality test. You will find out you are INTP, INTJ, or similar type. Most people are not and are instead ruled by emotions, feelings, social acceptance or other such crap. You will never rationalize them over to use common sense.

I think I took one of those in high school, and "INTJ" sounds familiar.

But people seem at least partially rational. I mean, that's why there are condom commercials on my TV everyday (swimming in a sea of male-genital-enlargement commercials).

Pre-marital sex is blasphemy of a sort.

All sex is marriage.

So then many people have hundreds of wives or husbands, and don't even stay with them longer than a few months to hours sometimes.

It's blasphemy in that sense!

either that, or lying is honesty.

When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. When in doubt look to nature. Biology says humans should be having about as much sex as Bonobo monkeys. Which is a lot.

These "ideas" and over-thinking people who think sex is anything other than what nature intended; to be fun. And if society makes people who can have kids unable to care for them, then that's society's fault. Not nature's.

Humans are social animals and should live in groups. Not in ones and twos. Then any children had by fertile females would be cared for by the group. Not because "in this economy it's not feasable to have children". Ugh! The human species relies on every female having art least two children to replace the two it took to make them. Otherwise you are in populatuion decline.

It's also smart, and like nature, to have children by many different males. Thus ensuring the best DNA make it. Not just one genetically deficient male spreading his genes.

Promiscuity is the norm. Withholding sex is weird.

Girls call each other "sluts" way more than any guy would call a girl one. Then why are females allowing their fellow females to put a number on your vagina? Lest you be ostrasized from the group of "good girls".

Next time you feel sexually oppressed, look at your female friends who would judge you for liking sex at all. Or watch the movie "What's your number?" with Anna Faris to get an idea what I'm talking about.
