Anonymous Coward User ID: 26161363 Canada 11/21/2012 06:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's a lot of sex in the world today. Apparently people (even Christians) think the old idea of waiting until marriage is antiquated and quaint, but there's a logical fallacy that perplexes me about this line of reasoning. Quoting: superskeptic No form of birth control is 100% effective (except for surgery, which is another potential mess). That means there's always a chance that sex is going to result in a pregnancy, which is a very large responsibility that could last for the next 18 years. Given the potentially serious consequences of taking the risk of having sex, why is the common advice now to simply "wait until you're ready" or "wait until you're in love"? Being emotionally ready for a physical encounter is not the same as being ready to take on the responsibility of raising a child. I'm not promoting any religious beliefs here. I'm just questioning people's common sense. My bio dad ran off just before I popped out from under the hooded clitoris. I have been mad at this strange sperm donor many times, but in the long run, I made it to Thirty, and no matter what, I do realize that without his anonymous spurt I wouldn't be here at all. So... |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 12430998 United States 11/21/2012 11:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pre-marital sex is blasphemy of a sort. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25601325 All sex is marriage. So then many people have hundreds of wives or husbands, and don't even stay with them longer than a few months to hours sometimes. It's blasphemy in that sense! either that, or lying is honesty. I've always thought men should take care of women and care about their feelings, which implies not simply using them for pleasure and then discarding them. At least that's what my instincts have always told me, but I've always been kind of sensitive. |

I'm afraid some cold-hearted men might interpret it to simply mean "I got bored with her". |

Biology says humans should be having about as much sex as Bonobo monkeys. Which is a lot. These "ideas" and over-thinking people who think sex is anything other than what nature intended; to be fun. And if society makes people who can have kids unable to care for them, then that's society's fault. Not nature's. Humans are social animals and should live in groups. Not in ones and twos. Then any children had by fertile females would be cared for by the group. Not because "in this economy it's not feasable to have children". Ugh! The human species relies on every female having art least two children to replace the two it took to make them. Otherwise you are in populatuion decline. It's also smart, and like nature, to have children by many different males. Thus ensuring the best DNA make it. Not just one genetically deficient male spreading his genes. Promiscuity is the norm.
