Thats only partially true, being "voluptuous" throughout human history usually meant you were rich or powerful enough to feed yourself well, which in itself would be desirable, since throughout human history, people have been marrying for power and status more than love and genuine emotional attachment.

Hence it was more honest, you are a bit on the larger side, well you must be wealthy enough to provide for me too then and in case you die, I get a nice inheritance.

You're wrong about correcting me about why "voluptuous" was in vogue all throughout human history until the (last half of the) 20th century. It's because curvy hips and larger breasts are inherently more attractive to men because of the motherly attributes they bring to potential offspring. Now when MEN were fat, THAT was a sign to women that they were wealthy, etc. It's still the case in many Third World (and some Second World) countries. But as for women, it was nature's way of making women who would be better (in general) child bearers more attractive to men.
