Well I can't say I agree with the casino, unless you're just going to be around people and do something different...but IDK I HATE casinos lol!

But you're 100% right. Being alone isn't so bad at all. For a long time, it sucked really REALLY bad for me! But now, I honestly don't mind it. I don't know what happened, but I thank my lucky stars that it doesn't consume me anymore like it once did!

Seriously, if you can learn how to live your life on your own, which I think is one of the hardest things to do, you can literally do anything. You'll be carved out of stone and there won't be anything you can't deal with. Well, almost anything...

It really comes down to re-adjusting your mind to being completely comfortable as a person--alone, and coming to terms with how imperfect other people are, and how they will most always let you down in some way or another. I'm not being negative, just realistic. If you can truly come to realize this...that you shouldn't expect too much from others (and you can be truly happy without anyone) then your life will change in ways you can't even imagine. In fact, your relationships with others will likely become better, stronger, and more "real" too.

People are social creatures, so I'm not advocating becoming a hermit. For me, it's just a shame that people have to think they have some kind of shortcoming because they're spending a "holiday" along. Pfft big deal! Seriously, it's the same thing as penis enlargement pills or breast enlargement pills or hair coloring...people will always find things for you to feel insecure about. Don't let them! You're amazing just the way you are!

Alone here. widowed in 2010. Estranged from my family due to my mother being crazy and my siblings taking her side. Daughter is 19 and has her own life with her boyfriend. All friends abandoned me after I became widow due to them thinking Widowhood was a catching disease?

Whatever. I have my two Papillon dogs who have given me more joy than any other human on this planet. I much prefer to be alone actually. If we are all going out I would much rather go out with no "loose ties to tie up" you know? So, all is well. I can eat and drink whatever the fuck I want tomorrow and watch the parade and football without someone giving me a hard time about it or having to cater to anyone else. All is good.

I am going to my uncle's house for thanksgiving.

My rich uncle. My uncle in the .01 percent. Who spends more money in a week on his horses than I earn in a year. Literally.
