Oh! I left out that I have a wonderful family...
Aunt Jamie will give you all the hugs and kisses you could possibly want. And there's a lot to get your hands around there, if you know what I mean . Our Johnny is 10 and autistic. He's turned into a really great kid recently, once we got him potty trained. Tony, my younger brother still lives at home . I'm hoping our mom will bring her. Yes we still call him John. Dad won't come when Aunt Jamie is around. That's another story.
I haven't had a chance to be alone with my wife Betty in ages. Maybe I will take her with me. I also promise to keep her out of the refrigerator as well.

I know we all live far away from each other but maybe if you close your eyes you will be able to feel the love I'm sending to you....

Please always know you aren't alone, even when it seems that way!

((((HUG))))

P.S. Gosh, thank you for whomever pinned this! Hugs to you too! Muah!

Oddly enough, I have a friend coming over, but normally I LOVE spending thanksgiving alone. I always cook myself a huge meal. Love the turkey and stuffing. And pumpkin, and I find it so relaxing to be on no one's schedule but my own. I cook when I'm hungry. Nap when I'm tired, have a beer and watch a movie. But I will enjoy the company of my friend as well.

Just me and my wife, separated from our children, mother in the hospital, dogs dead hit by a train, and its going to rain. Favorite country song anyone? No, the first two parts are true so I am missing my loved ones.
Apathy builds walls that are only brought down by pain and suffering.

Same here...Separated from my family, all of them are two-faced and if i cant trust you ,i dont want to be around you.I make 6 pumpkin,2 strawberry pies and 2 pineapple upside down cakes and peanut butter brownies along with a ham and a turkey so my kinda wife and kid can take it to her moms and eat there. I`ll get some leftovers when they get back.Been like this for 6 years now. I lost my twin brother long time ago and my dad in jan. All of my real friends are either dead or in prison.I sit here every year drinkin and smokin myself retarded just enough to pass out and start all over again.I strugle to find out which is worse, being alone or being around people that make you wish you were alone.Hope you day is better than mine..I dont wish this on anyone...

Re: Is Anyone Else Out There All Alone This Thanksgiving Holiday???
It's now 5 a.m. where I live and I've just read all of the replies up to this point.

My heart breaks for those of you who have lost your spouse. Holidays can really break your heart when you don't have your companion with you. As so many people stated on here, the best thing we can do for ourselves is to search out those who have it worse than we do. Whether that is a homeless shelter that needs servers for meals or an old folks home where there may be someone that has no family to visit them any longer.

There will always be people who are suffering more than we are, even though it may not seem like it. But we still have LOVE in our hearts to give others at times like this and they need us desperately!

And if you are one of those people who have too MUCH family and they drive you crazy, see if you can find a spot to go to where you can view some place that takes your breath away and give you peace. If you don't have a place like that close by, then search for it on the computer. Find a video that has beautiful scenery and serene music that will calm your spirit from all of the dysfunction around you. You need to be by yourself and get back to 'you' and de-stress!

These holidays can be good or bad and like anything else, it's what we put into them that makes the difference!

I MUST say, that this thread gives me so much hope that there are still good, loving people here on GLP and it's not all gloom and doom and sarcasm and cynicism. I was beginning to think that love didn't exist on this site anymore.

THANK YOU FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY HEART for each and every one of you! Look up at the sky and smile and know that you are loved from very far away!hf

I have no family and I have no friends.

And when I say that I literally mean ZERO family or friends.

Only child, from a single parent household.

And I was never good at friend making. Maybe I had 1 my entire life and that was when I was like 7 or 8.

So, yeah I'm used to it. Been that way for a long while.

It's not too bad when you get used to it.

Iam so very sorry! I have an old boyfriend who is in the same situation as you. He was an only child and everyone in his family has passed on. He does choose to have friends though but has never been married or has any children.

I hope somehow you get through the holidays with at least one person that will brighten your days and give them happiness and hope for your future!

Biggest hugs....hf

Re: Is Anyone Else Out There All Alone This Thanksgiving Holiday???
I am going to my uncle's house for thanksgiving.

My rich uncle. My uncle in the .01 percent. Who spends more money in a week on his horses than I earn in a year. Literally.

I will sit under a chandelier and nod politely as my family extolls the virtues of sarah palin. And talk about my cousin's ever-expanding career as a banker in Chicago.

I will be surrounded by 'family'. But in my heart, I will be alone.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21926154

Hell, I wouldn't even GO to a dinner like that.

Ad if they ask why, just tell them the truth, and to fuck off.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7394555

Sounds like they are just showing off and rubbing your face in it.
I'd go steal some nice shit...or rummage through their medicine cabinet...or put my feet on the couch...or "accidently" break something meaningful. This way they never invite me back, and I never have to go.
Yeah I'm passive aggressive...but it's fun....well fun for me.

You need to start talking about such things a 9/11 was an inside job, the global cabal, how the Royal Family are lizards, UN Pedo Ring, Nibiru, Fandango Rangers, Frankie MacDonald, and a whole host of other cool things from GLP. Gives those folks a Thanksgiving to remember.

Swing from the chandelier while ranting for extra effect. Have someone video tape the whole thing for us.

Give us a GLP Thanksgiving to remember.

I highly recommend dropping him like a bad habit .... You will never change him ... And if he is like that now it will be ten times worse if you decide to marry or stay together for a long time

Move on to greener pastures dear

I am, and thanks OP. I hope you have a nice relaxing holiday <3

I work a bullshit retail job at night (8pm Thanksgiving eve opener) in addition to a daytime job. I yearn to be with my family, in fact I want nothing more for this holiday.

Longtime BF invited his parents over for dinner, because mine are 4+ hours away and I do not have the means or the hours available to travel and visit for the day . He gives me 1 day notice to shop and clean.

As I was scrubbing the floors today and cleaning up, I asked him if he was going to help out. He immediately realized he couldn't handle the pressure of cleaning + preparing a nice meal and being a good dinner host. Online games and TV shows are too important.

Proceeds to tell me I am a bitch because I ask for a little assistance with some housework that I, myself did not make plans for. He says he doesn't care if our apartment is a mess and it does not matter if I prepare anything for dinner. Calls his parents, tells them Thanksgiving is off because his GF (me) is too unstable to handle it.

In my honest opinion, if you are inviting someone over for a meaningful experience such as Thanksgiving, you should be prepared to help out, instead of criticize the one who will be doing the majority of the work.

All in all, this is a bullshit holiday excuse for corporate to make their paycheck off of your hard work. If you get this day off as a paid holiday, and do not need the hours to make ends meet, then good for you. If not, I am pulling for you, you and I are what makes this country run smoothly.

Happy holidays everyone

What a tool! He expects you to be his maid, cook, and his hooker while he sits with his thumb up his ass playing video games. Does he think he's a pimp or is he just a grown up child.

A real man would have been right there with you, asking what he could do to help...how appreciative he was that you were helping him have this time with his family...how much he would miss you while you were at work...but he would plan something to make it up to you. But NO dear, you are not a bitch you live with a sociopath. I know because I did too once. They never change. Google it, so many people will relate the exact same experience you are going through. And get him the hell out of you life, you could throw a rock and hit three guys that are dying to treat you better.
