Check out the "Just Right Carbine" or the Kel-Tec Sub-2000 or Beretta CX4 or the Thureon Defense 9mm Carbine if you want a 9mm carbine.

Or, just stick with the AK and get the wife more trigger time and she'll get used to it. A muzzle break might help with recoil if she really needs it.

We may not able to "legally" possess the same assault rifles and high capacity mags as americans but we don't need to..

FFS, he's "30 or 40 yards away" and he is proud that he hit the target sometimes "just from standing, not with a rest or anything". With a decent carbine, he should hit a man-size target EVERY TIME out to at least 200 metres. He is still missing the target at 40 yards!!!

I had a couple of those, The front sight hood breaks off easily, but they will warranty them, I put on red dots , they dont jam,are ergonomically good and go bang. The accuracy is decent for a 9mm anything, A freind had a Marlin Camp 9, and was just as accurate. its a semi auto Sub gun, period. good prep weapon and anyone who starts about quality , never owned one. very basic, shoots decent,and reliable.

HiPoint offers affordable and surprisingly RELIABLE firearms. They are exactly what they are supposed to be, an inexpensive alternative to normally very expensive firearms.

If you are not a hunter, or a sport shooting enthusiast, and you are most likely never ever going to need to shoot the thing unless a rabid coyote should wander into your yard, why spend $1,000 on an expensive firearm?

I know someone that had a HiPoint semi-auto pistol in .40 S&W and that thing fired well over 500 rounds beautifully and NEVER JAMMED ONCE. Ugly - definitely, but it damned sure shoots. A Hi Point may not be a work of art, and they will definitely not survive being used continuously day in and day out, but they are definitely NOT a POS.

The 995 series may not all be pieces of shit but that one is. Good thing HiPoint has good warranty service. Light primer hits on factory ammo suggest something is seriously fucked.

....and that will be the same day this happens.
