I tried to make chicharron a few days ago....3 slices/slabs were 1 1/2 pounds!! a half pound per friggin slice...it was good but I over did the baking soda ( it melts the skin)...it was fall apart but too much!..next time less baking soda and only a half hour and fry it right up with some smoked paprika and mesquite

Yeah, I love me some fried rinds, but I've never tried to make them myself.

Also, I have a habit of consuming bacon sammies. No lettuce or tomato. Just 2 slices of bread, 8 rashers of bacon, and plenty of yellow mustard.

Today I'm trying another great way, besides spaghetti carbonara.. to use bacon.. homemade bean and bacon soup.
