The same thing is happening here in British Columbia Canada. For the last few years the Ash and Birch trees " White Wood" Have been dieing off from that same fungus. It kills them from the tops down. I still have a few that aren't sick in my yard yet but the majority of them all over the province are dead just standing there. Its bad and nobody seems to be talking about it because its been gradual. There all dead. I'd say 80% percent of them gone.
