Yea...I got to get a hold of those books. I really actually want to try and do something about this, probably the most interesting phenomena I've ever heard.

I have Missing 411/Western United States/Canada, it's a great book, but nothing like listening to George and David elaborate on the books as well as callers adding to the stories/intrigue.
 Quoting: Mwalk

I just want to know about as many stories as I can. Also the caller's were idiots to me. One was saying it was a mountain lion, and he went on talking about how they were absolute beast's. It's not the fact that M lions couldn't physically accomplish that, but the way...a mountain lion attacking a person leaving no blood or ripped clothes? Please. Then second time around it was just people calling looking to validate their own conspiracies. What caller's should have been calling about is adding maybe own stories to see if they fit the curriculum.
 Quoting: Mrbillybadass

Are you guys referencing the interviews on Coast to Coast with this guy? Those were, hands down, the freakiest shows I have ever listened to on C2C.

I wanted to get the Missing 411 Western US book, but darn, it's really, really pricey. Anyone got a link to the books for sale for less than $70?

Yea it's those shows, and Idk I thought I heard something about them being 20 somewhere.

Pretty freaky. I live in Washington state and sometimes I`ll go up in the deep woods with a friend to do some rock hounding,ya`know find a mountain creek or shallow river and look for quartz, crystal or whatever,it`s extremely relaxing to be up there in the wild,it`s just peaceful. The last time we went up there, (up towards Mt St Helens) my buddies dog started freaking out in the woods, running frantically back and forth sniffing the ground wildly. I happen to look over at my friend to comment on the dog and right behind him down a steep embankment no more than 100 ft away something huge and black bent down and quickly hid behind a giant tree that had been uprooted. It wasn`t a bear,it was on 2 legs before it had crouched over behind the tree. I wasnt about to go down the embankment to see what it was, i only had a pocket knife on me so we got the hell out of there asap.I know it sounds crazy and i only seen it for an instant but i seen something and it was big. I wanted to go back up there and see if there were any tracks but my friend chickened out and there`s no way i`m going up there by myself.

Re: Ok, pretty freaky must read.
I just finished the 1st video and I find it a little bothersome that David or George really don't speculate on what it could be or go into possible theories. With all the strange evidence, I would think David would have some sort of theory since he's worked with the info for so many years. I know he says that a true investigator doesn't make theories, but personally he has to an inkling. Obviously he's a sasquatch-tard.

Personally I'd guess some sort of large bird since some of the bodies were found at a higher altitude that was unable to be reached by average people. Also the evidence of people dropped in the middle of cornfields or pigpens, surrounded by mud but yet they were clean. And the story of the woman who was "launched" over a waterfall, brain matter splattered on boulders below and then body taken to a different location a few hundred yards away where it was eventually discovered. It seems plausible that it was an animal either known or yet unknown,as we find new species all the time. There are all the legends of the thunderbird, the mothman, ect.

David mentions that sometimes there is very little left of the person, maybe bone fragments or teeth. Owls and other birds of prey are known to swallow their kill whole and then reguritate the undigestable parts. That would somewhat explain the very small pieces perhaps?

Re: Ok, pretty freaky must read.
Listened to these shows when they aired. Very creepy. A couple of the little kids that were found alive told stories of a creature taking them. One said that it was a wolf and another said that a huge bear gave them food and kept them warm all night. Very strange that some of the young children were spared by whatever it was.

I used to live 5 mi. south of Yosemite's south gate and knew a ranger through another friend. She was a rookie but told us about strange appearances that she'd heard from seasoned park rangers. She didn't know all the details about one in particular but said something about not much of the body was found & shoes missing. At the time she thought it was an animal attack. Never thought much more about it after that until those shows.

And now I live in another area that is fairly close to a couple of the hot spots he talks about. I'm out in the woods fairly often and have never been scared before. But now I'm a little jittery.

Those shows unnerved me! Very weird.

Excellent shows though.

Very interesting stuff, and scary.

A couple questions though about the author (the interviewee on the linked CTC shows)

First, early in the first show, he states how he does all of his record keeping on graph paper and how he would be able to do such a better job if he "could afford a laptop." just struck me as a strange thing to say. a laptop which is used primarily for word processing and has no graphics / speed frills costs less then 450$.

second, his books are selling on amazon for over 600$ for new copies. Huh? that is more then the most expensive college textbooks. I don't understand why these books would be selling for more then the normal 20 - 30 dollars.

Definitely makes me question the validity of what he is saying.

Towards the beginning of the first show(I think first) he mentioned Oroville, Ca as being one of the new hot spots but didn't mention it again in the show. Wonder if it it in the books.

It's a town right below Plumas National Forest and fairly close to where I live although I'm in Tahoe National Forest area. Awhile back there was a video of orbs at night in Oroville that some kids filmed. It was quite a show of orbs. I saw the video right after I had listened to these shows and wondered if these orbs had some connection to all this.

I think the orb video was posted here on GlP.

Yea this, also yea birds regurgitate bones maybe but david was talking just tiny bits a bird would throw up more than that. Also I like the approach David is taking...as soon as he speculates something paranormal he immediately gets boxed in and turns many people off to the subject. By sticking with just pure investigative it's impossible for people to dismiss these stories.

I was abducted at 14, and to this day, only remember a FEW things about it. Since I came back, I've had an illness that has been getting progressively worse over teh past 12 years (I'm 26 now). Also had strange marks on my back, still there to this day.

Anyway, my point is, much of what you described: people disappearing and re-appearing miles away, missing time, unable to recall what happened, small children, etc. This is all common in abductions.

Whatever it is, VERY scary indeed.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 801546

Your fear changes the experience from what it rightly was, often times causing physical manifestations of the very bad sort - illness, anxiety, etc.

The only acid trip I ever had a blackout during started off much like abduction stories. Clothes shed, folded neatly, me found naked a distance away. It took many years to recall what happened during the time in between, but meditation alone has sufficed to reveal the truth not warped by fear.

Don't fear your spirit going home and come back to integrate it in a negative way. Next time, open your heart and come back with the truth.

Do witches go out into the remote wilderness and pick up 19 year old men and carry them over 20 foot snow banks, leaving them several miles away, with their blue jeans still tucked into their boots, but only a lower leg bone on one side still in the clothes? With the skull cap a few meters way, a few fine bones scattered around, but otherwise no sign of the man?

Ostman's experience is the closest to what is described. Many witnesses have reported being confronted by very aggressive forest people. They are the ones who were armed or who had a mate along. So they were attacked but not taken, or were not attacked. The lone person in the wilderness stands little chance. If that person is unarmed he/she stand very little to no chance, if events play out in the wrong way.

This is just in my imagination but when I think of some of these abductions I get more of an image of something like in the movie "Predator" more than I do of bigfoot.

Whatever the creature may be it is stealth & swift. Some of these people disappeared while walking in a group of people. In some of these incidents they just walk ahead around a turn in the path and they are gone! And their companions never see/hear a thing. -

You know I've never made the connection to the movie predator, but it is actually quite a bit similar. Idk, man been seeing a lot about this "big dog" associated with these missing. It was on the show, but other forum post (not reputable post's at all, but just something) where people are out in the wilderness and while the person their with is just barely going out of sight. They turn and there's "a big almost furry dog" in a full sprint for them with outstretched arms. Their friend/significant other comes back just in time and when they both see it, it almost disappears in thin air. Saw a post or 2 like that on /x/ going to see if i can find something else in a actual forum something that doesn't disappear.

Most underground military complexes are located under national parks and indian reservations. This is done to stop outsiders from poking around and to limit building, drilling, and mining above.
