I just worked on a guys truck who claims to work for FEMA... Quoting: SuperNova1 He's feeding you BS. All of those acronym government agencies have to go through a shitload of paperwork to even buy a thumbtack. They have to buy from approved vendors, who have been screened to guarantee that they include the proper percentage of minority and female business owners. Some guy 'with' FEMA is not going to go to a local garage, and purchase something for FEMA without going through mega quadruple loads of paperwork you the vendor would have fill out. You would have to prove on paper your business has umbrella liability coverage, etc, etc, etc. PLUS wait to get your status approved as a vendor all the way up through some big ass central office. Any vendor to any federal agency (that would be you, OP) has to jump through a lot of hoops. On the other hand, he might work for FEMA or some other agency and be buying it privately for himself. OP just said his boss worked for FEMA. His BOSS, the guy who runs the garbage. So we don't know, maybe they are an approved vendor. You guys ever hear of GSA ? They handle the vehicle maintainence and repairs. They also provide for contract vendors. Been in trucking/transport repairs for over 20 years. These types of trucks are all over the place and yes, the do come into dealerships.
