We already discussed this today on another thread. It's Methane. It means there has been life on Mars. Kinda cool, right?  Nope. Not really. And if that's the only thing their going to use to prove life once existed on mars, then that's pretty weak. You're jaded by the SiFi channel. You need to understand we've never confirmed life outside of the planet Earth before. You may not think it's a big deal, but in the scientific community this is the Holy Grail.
