Mashaal: Conflict paves way for independence war

Hamas Politburo Chief Khaled Mashaal told the Turkish news agency Anatolia that the recent conflict in Gaza has paved the way to a Palestinian "independence war," and that the ceasefire is just another step towards ending the Gaza siege.


"Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied territories will return to the Palestinian people not only through diplomatic efforts, but through militant resistance," Mashal said; he praised Egypt, Qatar and Turkey for their efforts to achieve the truce between Israel and Hamas. (Yonatan Gonen)
