Tried no meat for 8 weeks and nothing changed.

Felt worse if anything, lost no weight, and maybe a little weaker as well.

Its just another BS agenda, much like feminism, and homosexuality.

Interesting...

I thought I was doing well by eating grass fed beef and free range poultry....

Some of my idols "Doug Mcguff" for e.g stand by paleo...and I was pretty much convinced...

But now...?

I aggree, and yes the body does need meat, but at times we tend to over do it.

I tend to choose quality over quanity, and do eat more fruits and vegies than I use to. Stopped going to fast food places and have lost 33 pounds this year.

Yup. Buy local and free-range/organic from caring people if you can. Or hunt. Eat the meat raw (the whole carcass) like a real shaman. Feel the animal's chi and feel its place in the order. That's truly living with the Earth.

BS - the Earth will be just fine, besides the bibles says that God is going blow this Earth up and make a new one.

Yes we need to take care of the planet, but not to the point were we are worshiping it, and NO animals are not the same as people.

im female, and did bodysculpting on a vego diet. i did eat some organic eggs(but not like bodybulders etc -eg;10 egg whites a day etc) but ate fairly normally except for the extra meal before i trained and got some awesome results and also muscle gain.
My partner at the time trained me and he was very good and selective with what weights i did ,reps and sets etc, but he was pretty amazed at the results i got eating vego as hes was sure it couldnt be done unless i ate meat.

i do believe even gaining maintaining muscle mass is mental, its how you approach your body with your mind at the time-not just how you train and what you eat.

But seriously, if you're going to eat meat, you can't do better than to hunt it yourself. (And I'm a vegetarian saying this.) The modern meat industry is just completely sick, in every sense of the word.

You can do with fish, caught in very cold, very clean water and eaten immediately. I would not risk it with anything else for certain not a land mammal which is too similar to you, lives in a place similar to you, and can cary many diseases that can make you sick.

You're taking a chance with bacteria if you don't.

Store-bought muscle meat is okay to eat raw. However, the animal is grain-fed, cooped up and vaccinated with shit. But the toxins from vaccines accumulate in glands, so avoid those. Muscle meats will be fine. Grass-fed is ofc much better. Also, make sure you get a nice fatty cut. Get ready for some serious detox but also calm energy.

Check out Aajonus Vonderplanitz. He basically popularized the raw meat diet in North America. There are several transcribed interviews with him posted online where he summarizes his background, the diet, and the results.

It's ok to eat grass fed meat raw...
Interestingly the body converts acidic foods to alkaline and alkaline foods to acid.
For example, a lemon is highly acidic but after digestion it becomes alkaline.
Similar with beef for example. Raw beef is acidic but if eaten becomes alkaline where as if meat is cooked the acidness goes but after ingestion becomes acidic to the body.

Sorry to burst your disinfectant bubble but bacteria are part of you. They digest your food, pass along vital biochemical signals, and the vast majority of our DNA encodes for them. Don't be retarded. And don't post some CDC or FDA bullshit in an attempt to prove me wrong. Salmonella, Ecoli and the like are also naturally present in your body. Have fun thinking about that. Makes you feel... sick, doesn't it? You see, such sickness is just fear being experienced and released. This is food poisoning, pathetically blamed on bacteria for simply doing its job of breaking down organic matter.

Good for you man!

I highly suggest also watching "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" on Hulu. My best pal just lost around 60 pounds in 2 months by exclusively juicing. I'm not advocating the exclusive part but he was about 370 and he's down to 300 or less. It was really inspiring to watching his metamorphosis.

I bought a juicer and I'm going to try it out. Lord knows I can lose about 15 or so. :D

Good luck my friend!

Don't get caught up in the alkaline craze, bro. The average pH for blood is 5.5, contrary to what vegans will tell you about dying if it wavers away from a nice healthy alkaline 7.5. Our gut is acidic, meant to digest acidic foods, while the alkaline part of our GI tract digests alkaline foods. Simple. Just don't eat both at once.

yw.
If i had of thought at the time"it wont work as well because im not eating meat" im sure my body wouldve reacted in kind.

instead,
1.i just trained and expected results how and where i wanted them.
2.that bit after a session where you pumped( the bit where guys finish training and go pose in front of a mirror).I would stand, meditate and practice muscle conciousness, say if id done arms/shoulders/traps/upperback id focus on each muscle and encourage it mentally to the size/shape i wanted-while i was still pumped and could feel eacj part id worked on.(this muscle conciousness is great for learning how to isolate muscles for isometrics.
3.If i was sore the next day/days, id now think "sore" i would think"theyre shaping/healing/forming to how i wanted them".
4. every mouthful of food i did eat i ate conciously with intent.

hope that helps someone.

the only supplement i had at the time was selenium btw.

I am a vegetarian.

Sure, you are able to obtain beneficial minerals and vitamins from meat, but most meat is contaminated and irradiated. Not to mention, the meat industry is raping Earth; they are killing millions of innocent lifeforms, consuming hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland for animal feed, and burning endless fossil fuels in order to transport the feed, animals and meat.

In order to obtain all of the nutrients that I need (it is difficult to do so with a vegetarian diet), I take hemp protein, hemp oil (omega-3 & omega-6) and spirulina. Spirulina has changed my life.

- Spirulina is 65% protein and amino acids including the essential fatty acid gamma linolenic acid (GLA) which has gotten a lot of attention for its anti-inflammatory properties, especially when taken with other quality Omega-3 supplements like Fermented Cod Liver Oil. (I suspect that the benefits of GLA in Spirulina are even more than what the studies have found since these studies often use vegetable oils for their GLA source, and the other inflammatory compounds in vegetable oils can interfere with the anti-inflammatory ability.) It contains all essential amino acids.

- Spirulina contains Omega 3-,6 and 9s and is especially high in Omega-3s.
Spirulina is extremely high in Chlorophyll, which helps remove toxins from the blood and boost the immune system.

- Spirulina has a very high concentration of bio-available iron and is excellent during pregnancy and for those with anemia and will not cause constipation.

- Spirulina is a great source of other nutrients including (according to Wikipedia): “Spirulina contains vitamins B-1(thiamine), B-2 (riboflavin), B-3(nicotinamide), B-6 (pyridoxine), B-9 (folic acid), vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin A and vitamin E. It is also a source of potassium, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, sodium and zinc. Spirulina contains many pigments which may be beneficial and bioavailable”.

- This Spirulina (from Mountain Rose Herbs) was tested be an independent laboratory and found to have an ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) of over 24,000 which is 4x the ORAC score of blueberries. The ORAC score is generally used to measure antioxidant ability and concentration in different foods.

- Spirulina is also incredibly high in calcium with over 26 times the calcium in milk, making it excellent for children, the elderly and during pregnancy.
Some research has suggested that Spirulina may be helpful in allergies and allergic reactions.

- Spirulina’s phosphorus content makes it helpful as part of a tooth remineralization regimen.

- Emerging evidence suggests that it binds with radioactive isotopes and may be useful for radioactivity exposure or radiation therapy.

- The protein in Spirulina is highly usable and has a net protein utilization rate of between 50-61%

- Spirulina can bind with heavy metals in the body and help remove them.

- Spirulina can increase fat burning during exercise.
