It was a propaganda film, saying a group of kids playing cowboys and indians could take down the Russians and the Cubans like they were little pussies. Wolverines! |

Really wanted it to be good as I am a huge fan of the original, but this movie was not good. Full of cliques and not very imaginative. Action scenes weren't very enjoyable do to low budget constraints, gun battles were almost boring and edited poorly. The great acting skills of Kenneth Choi and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were wasted. All Will Yun Lee does is stare menacingly the whole movie. And the ending? WTF? It barely worked for Starship Troopers (sorry But I don't consider this a spoiler as the writer/director already spoiled the entire movie). I wish I had been able to work on this, but it was ruined before I was able to do anything about it. GRRR. Overall worth the price of a ticket, i only go to a movie a few times a year. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27455453 it shares alot from the 1984 original. But in this EMP weapons are used to take out portions of our grid, and they have a tech that allows them to shield themselves from the pulse. Russians take eastern sea board, northkoreans and Chinese west/mid west. 5 states are free America...that's all i will say it was action packed. And stands as a decent action adventure film on it's own right. The acting wasn't half bad either. Being a big fan of the original, i was pleasntely surprised. Might be worth seeing this weekend for the holiday just an FYI. More than a few predictions on the web in recent years about china taking the west coast and Russia taking the east. hmmm.. |
