Canada 11/22/2012 05:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Alaska's 29 million dollar harbor and 75million dollar airport in unlikely territory. Why? why is this airport and and harbor built in Alaska with no connection to mass civilization? Why did they build it? It doesn't make sense. Does anybody know? [ link to ca.news.yahoo.com] read the article in the above link for the full story. snip: Remember Alaska's infamous bridge to nowhere? Well, another town in "Seward's Icebox" has upped the ante after building an unused $75.5 million airport and a $29 million harbor with no roads connecting to the town.... The Army Corps of Engineers, using $29 million in federal stimulus money, built the harbor. "Yes. It's not normal," Steve Boardman, head of the Army Corps of Engineers civil projects division, told KUCB. The inactive harbor now shares Akutan territory with the nearby airport. |

3 thousand dollars for one hammer. 5k for toilet seats, etc... In comparison, one harbor and one airport are less conspicuous. |

Quoting: Super Bowl Dave possibly. It's easy access to to China. If China does get involved, as everyone fears/suspects they would get involved in a war eventually, this location is convenient. |
