I grew up poor,single dad. Luckily he could cook. We only had real meat on Sundays, but he always had a big pot of beans that we ate on most of the week.he made the best biscuits ! Since he worked nights he cut the biscuits out placed them on waxed paper put in the freezer, every morning I baked a few of them and my brother and I ate them with molasses. It really does take a little planning.
