What is Ego
What is ego?

I have experienced ego death before, and it became clear to me that my ego is a separate entity. At one point I observed my ego using my body and speaking.

So does anyone have more insight? Is my ego also a concious entity as I am? does my ego have an ego?

Or is my ego just my brain? my computer? Is it able to run without me?

I have read a lot about ego since my ego death, and I have not seen satisfactory evidence to suggest either theory.

Also, I feel like there may be more than one "me" in here. If I am just an observer, and perhaps slight controller of my ego, who is to say there is not more than one me in here?

This other me that i feel sometimes, is that jsut my ego? and again is that ego something other than mechanical?

Or is it me looking through my ego, thinking I am my ego, feeling my higher self that is actually me.

If i talk to my higher self through my ego, how does that work? How does my hihger self respond to my ego if I am my higher self but looking through my ego.

What is subconcious? it seems to know a lot of stuff. I've talked to it before. Is that my higher self? but then how do I not experience my higher self if I Am my higher self. I'm experiencing my ego, which seems to be separate.

I am sure everyone can see me getting confused. I need some logic here to help me out.

Discuss!

Ego is a negative attachment to Earth, we need an ego to survive on earth, but it doesn't necessarily have to be in us. It can be an attachment to something we love, eg soulmate, twin flame.

Re: What is Ego
Ego = Your own perception of what you think other's think of you.

Character = Who you really are.

Ego is flawed because it allows a person to live a fake life based upon what they believe others think of them.

People with ego problems need not be present to found out. A look at their material possessions will tell you all you need to know.

In order to find the character of someone, they need to be present because it is based on actions, not image or material.

Don´t try to be schizophrenic. There is but One TRUE Self, the eternal and infinite One. Not confined to your particular here and now.

You have to get rid of your particular ego by searching for the infinite and eternal.

Ego is the minds response to negative stimulation.

Its a form of defense, an attempt to add value to what you deem is unacceptable "you".

A mental shell if you will, your ego is not pride however.

It sounds like you already have a pretty well defined sense of what ego means to you if you already are declaring the you experienced a death of ego.
Continue to ask these questions to yourself and see the answers your life provides. My experiences are not text book and do not apply like a definition in a dictionary. The meaning of these experiences are specific to use personally, so a one size fits alls definition does not work for me.
Ego continually challenges me. Releasing ego vs lack of self esteem is constantly playing out for me to balance.

Here's a great video on how the US military industrial espionage complex installs egos into the sheeple.

Their trick is to make you think your ego is your own. It is not though. It has been installed for you by those who control your reality...TPTB.

If you went to school in the US after the 1950's, watched TV since the 1950's, or did business with the governmnet since the 1950's....you have been overwritten.

When my ego is really negative, though, It sort of separates from me. I've lost my temper before, and I wasn't controlling what was comming out of my mouth.

MAny of you have soeme good points, but what about my ego itself? Is it alive/conscious? Its so hard for me to imagine it not to be.

I agree, keep asking questions. I just feel so far away from understanding what is actually going on in my own head. Its so strange, I am experiencing it first hand, but I annot see what it is doing 100% of the time.

reality is percieved by your senses (atributes of the form)
= your perception = your reality

but this leads me to a paradox.

I am confined to here and now. But my true self is not. But I am my true self all the time by definition.

In this example, I view ego as your attachment to winning the argument. Ego wanted you to be right and drove you to get caught up in emotions, this case anger.

So I am in no-time right now, but in a temporary illusion and upon the cessation of said illusion I will be in no-time again realizing I never really was anywhere at all?

so that means that I am in no time, which makes sense because I am always in "now"...

I dont' know. I am jsut thinking till my mind explodes i need help please. I need logic.

There are logical errors in all this.

Is it possible for logic not to apply? does not seem logical. but non-logic would not be.
