In AD 135, the Emperor Hadrian (r. 117 - 138 AD) blotted out the name “Provincia Judea” and renamed it “Provincia Syria Palaestina". Hadrian had an historical reason for naming the province Palaestina (i.e. he didn't just make it up) and it could quite possibly be the writings of Herodotus in the 5th Century BC.

You do realize that although they didn't believe they "owned" the land, they had their own territories , right? There were MANY different native american tribes, some as huge as what, 25,000-50,000, who had THIER land, ownership or not. Other tribes didn't randomly come into their land and try to occupy it, they would still protect the land they were living on.
