When Napoleon conquered Egypt, he supposedly found Marduk's body preserved in some kind of oil.

But generally, according to the tablets, they left the Earth for man to rule. It also says they would return one day, but that day wasn't specified. The only clue was that they would be returning to assist when the next planet wide catastrophe was due to occur, similar to the flood of the days of the biblical Noah. I believe it was said that the Annunaki had a lifespan of about 7500 years which is why people thought they were immortal Gods. They outlived many generations of humans. There were so many brought to earth (the Igigi) that I doubt they could have all returned to their planet. From what I understand they intermingled with the earth people and are still here with us today. Don't know if their longevity continued or it ended when they interbred with the human race. I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of it may have been retained and perhaps these are the TPTB that though hidden continue to control or attempt to control earths people through the introduction of religion. Enlil has been inferred to be the "God" of Abraham in some of the writings I've read. He would ceertainly fit the description of that "God" in the descriptions given in the Bible.
