Being alone has it's advantages. You get to do what you want to do when you want. I can't imagine having a wife and kids around.....

I'm alone in my office with the door locked just to keep the families out!

Another announcement towards pussifying America. It is your decision and nobody cares. I can't stand losers that try to extrapolate pity from strangers. If it is true, then quit making poor decisions in life, over and over and over again. Loser.

We do not follow tradition. My husband and I will probably go see a movie. Last year, we had spaghetti... it was great.

Many people spend the 'holiday' alone due to work or other issues. Make the best of this day and every day for yourself and have fun.

It's ok im stuck many miles from mine for the third year and i will eat a frozen turkey dinner.

It does get very lonely,and iadmit as much as i say i dont like people i do miss my family.

I just spent the last 3 hours talking a co-worker who is about to get fired down...don't know if I can take any more

look... the reason you have no family is that either u or they or some combination of is toxic to one another..if you've made that break, you are in in a better place.

Well idid get invited to a ladys familys place that i work with,but,i have nothing to bring so i will just stay home i guess again.

Why does the years seem to get closer? next i will put up a Christmas tree for only me? i dont understand.

Try not to be sad. I'm pretty much alone, but, I'm determined to enjoy the warmth of the Sun through my windows, and spaz out to tv and GLP off and throughout the day.

I'll make a drink, and 'join' you in a toast...this way you won't feel too alone!

Life could be so much worse, so I am thankful for the many things that have not gone wrong yet ...I won't bore you with them.

I have been on both sides of the situation. Now that i'm divorced, I can honestly say I prefer to just do what I want instead of dealing with "in laws" and other crappy obligatory situations.

I have my daughter until 4, at which point she does to her mother, and they will go to Thanksgiving with the entire family. I will be home alone to relax.

Way better.

The only mistake you made is the junk food.
Myself.. I bought shrimp and a cornish hen.

Shrimp cocktail, Lasagne, Cornish Hen with veggies on the side and apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

The many years that I followed tradition and made a huge feast, you would have been welcome at my house with open arms. You don't need to bring anything but a smile. Accept the invite and enjoy yourself, you will be glad you did. Let others be giving and your gratitude be enough. :)

To be frank it's time like this i often think of putting my 45 to my head,ive lost so much,im so tired,i just want to go ,yah know.

that sounds like a great day. and why be unhappy? you have a roof over your head, food to eat and the net plus tv. and you don't have to around people you would rather not see. this so called family holiday is way over hyped. drink for happiness. not for sorrow. you have got it much better I would think then most of the planet.

i bet many can understand but don't leave yet. things are just getting interesting. stick around with the rest of us. google up the law of attraction and put that to work for you. life is very interesting. yes it can be miserable but it can be very good at times as well. focus on the good and learn to FEEL good.
