Too many idiots working the floor but the cafeteria should be the ones you go after, especially if they have been notified of your allergy. Actually they bring me my own tray to my room, with my name on it.. along with the menu and allergy notation. Seriously, call a lawyer? Would anyone actually give a rat's ass on Thanksgiving? |

(OP) User ID: 1610510 United States 11/22/2012 12:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds like my wifes doc. 1 allergy penicillin. 1 prescription caught by the pharmacist was take a guess everyone........ Penicillin. Doctors the smartest idiots you will ever meet. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17875044 That happened to my mother a few years ago. She swelled up like a balloon and the skin on her arms and neck looked bruised for a week. I need to get out of here before they kill me. For the first time since I've been here, my tray was just whisked out of the room like it had wings. Usually it sits by the door for and hour or 2 before anyone bothers to move it. I saved 2 pieces of honeydew, doubt they'd be happy to know that. I'm looking up lawyers, but nobody answers the phone on Thanksgiving. Guess I could surprise them and call 911 for myself but I think I'm okay. I'm pissed though. |

Nuns in full formal nun clothes floating up and down the halls speaking softly (I'm Baptist, maybe that's why they're trying to kill me). Okay so far now they've sent 4 people in to see me. One assured me that an EpiPen was 5 steps away at the nurse's station. Another took my BP, temp and pulse... then another BP/temp/ pulse check 10 minutes later. They brought water and made me drink a glass while they watched, extra coffee, brought my regular meds early. Told me the nurse (RN, LPN whatever) will be here to talk with me soon. They put the nurse call button next to me and said 'Hit this if you feel any changes.' I'm up and dressed in my own clothes. I was going to the exercise room but they told me not to go anywhere until the nurse sees me. They keep trying to see what I'm looking at online. So far, GLP remains hidden. The second guy checking my vitals asked if I had any special plans for today. I said "Yes. I'll be double-checking all my food before I touch it." He wasn't sure whether to laugh or not. I certainly didn't. |

I was recently in the ICU for five days, on watch for a worsening heart condition after a heart attack scare so what did they bring me for breakfast? A big steaming plate of BACON lmfao... well it is Texas, and as someone joked, they need that repeat business to turn a profit jk but seriously, you gotta wonder sometime who decides this stuff Like my best friend used to say: a hospital is no kinda place for a sick person Happy Thanksgiving OP, and hope you recover quickly |
.. (OP) User ID: 1610510 United States 11/22/2012 01:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | when can you get out of there, op? it is horrible that the place people should get better in, is more than likely to kill them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123 They keep telling me that I've made amazing progress, but no comment on leaving. They said a month here wouldn't be out of the question, been here 2 weeks, tranferred from a different hospital where I spent 7 days in ICU. I could leave against doctor's orders, but I'd end up back in the hospital probably. My heart is messed up. So I feel like my options are limited for the time being. |

I don't want sugar, so I don't eat much. They say I need to gain weight. I'm down to 108 at 5'3". Sounds okay to me. I guess a little diabetes is what I need, eh?
